UPDATE FROM WAIPA COUNCIL: Draft Karāpiro Lake Domain Reserve Management Plan and Masterplan deliberations rescheduled for Friday, June 26

The strong community response to the draft Karāpiro Lake Domain Reserve Management Plan and Masterplan has led to a change in the deliberations date, from Thursday, May 28 to Friday, June 26.

The large number of thoughtful, high-quality submissions has highlighted just how important the domain is to the community. To ensure all feedback is properly considered, we need more time to analyse submissions, identify key themes, and clearly understand areas of support and opposition to assist elected members’ decision-making in the best interests of the wider community.

The deliberations will be held:
Friday, June 26
9.15am to 4.30pm
Te Awamutu Council Chambers, 101 Bank Street
A livestream link will be available https://letstalk.waipadc.govt.nz/karapiroreview for anyone wishing to watch online.

We also want to thank everyone who took the time to speak at the hearings on Monday, May 4 and Wednesday, May 6. It was valuable to hear the different perspectives, ideas, and passion people have for the future of the domain.

We’ll continue to keep the community updated, including when a date is confirmed for adoption of the final plan.
