Kia ora friends! We have a great New Zealand show coming to the theatre... Ration The Queens Veges: in December 2023 the group ‘Te Waka Hourua’ set the country alight when they painted over the English Treaty of Waitangi Exhibition at Te Papa. While all of the artists were charged, only one received prison time: Te Wehi Ratana.

This uplifting one-man play is inspired by true events, and shares the remarkable experience of the abseiling activist during his 48 hours at Rimutaka Prison.

Coming to The Meteor this June! Thursday, 18th June, 7:00pm - Saturday, 20th June, 7:00pm.

A modern classic coming to The Meteor next week! Educating Rita is a stage comedy by British playwright W***y Russell. It is a play for two actors set entirely in an office. Local director Owen Mooney from Our Theatre Company brings it here to Kirikiriroa!

Educating Rita: Thursday, 11th June, 7:30 pm - Saturday, 13th June, 7:30 pm. Also, 2.00 pm matinee on Saturday 13th June.

A Czech Gambit is coming to The Meteor!♟️

If you liked the film Queen’s Gambit you will love this.

A Czech Gambit, by Hamilton playwright Russell Armitage, was commissioned by the Prague International Chess Festival and performed at there in 2023. It was possibly the first play by a New Zealander to be performed in the Czech Republic, and now Hamilton audiences will be the first in New Zealand to see it.
