🚐 Reminder for all motorhome and caravan owners: the new self-containment rules come into effect on 7 June 2026.

From this date, only vehicles with the new government-issued GREEN self-containment warrant card will be recognised for freedom camping on public land.

If you still have a BLUE warrant card and plan to use freedom camping sites, now is the time to arrange your inspection and upgrade to avoid fines.

Key things to know:
✅ Green certification is valid for 4 years
✅ Blue cards will no longer be accepted for freedom camping after 6 June 2026
✅ Yellow certification remains valid for NZMCA Parks & POPs only
✅ Current processing time is around 20 days

If you haven’t started the process yet, book your inspection soon to avoid the last-minute rush.
