Pink Shirt Day - Thursday 14th May

The Knighton Student Council will be promoting Pink Shirt Day on Thursday 14th May.

Wear pink if you can, even if it is just ribbons in your hair, a pair of socks or a bandana. There is no need to go out and buy anything.

Please bring a gold coin to be donated to this cause.

Pink Shirt Day is about working together to stop bullying by celebrating diversity and promoting kindness and inclusiveness. It’s about creating a community where all people feel safe, valued and respected.

Pink Shirt Day is funded by donations to support the Mental Health Foundation to reduce bullying.

On Wednesday 5th November 8:00- 8:55am is our whakanuia in front of the hall for the ‘Walk or Wheels Wednesday Challenge' launch and our inaugural ‘Walking School Bus’ arrival from Vine Street.
Movin Martin the active travel doggo will be joining in the fun.
Hamilton City Council representatives will be stationed at the front of the hall and at the Wairere Drive gate to take names of tamariki who actively travel to school on foot or by bike or scooter to go into a draw to win a small treat.

Congratulations to the Knighton Showquest team who today have placed 3rd in the National Junior Showquest finals, alongside Recognition in Art, Drama and Lighting Design. We are immensely proud of you all. What an incredible result

It is with immense pleasure we announce that Knighton Normal School won the Junior competition of the Waikato Regional Showquest last night.

The tamariki were outstanding. The incredible hard work they put in paid off in spades. Talented, dedicated, and passionate - what an amazing bunch they were. Kia pai mai hoki tamariki ma.

To the team of staff who brought this spectacle together, we thank you from the bottom of our heart. You are awesome. Ngaa mihi nui e te whaanau.

The University of Waikato have closed the sports fields due to excessive rain, with more heavy rain forecast overnight. This means that, regardless of the weather tomorrow, our Winter Sports event is now cancelled. Thank you to all the parents who offered to help. We know the children will be most disappointed. Unfortunately, sometimes it's out of our control. Thank you all for being so understanding.
