As ANZAC Day approaches, we remember the lives lost to war and recommit ourselves to ending it. White poppies honour the victims of conflict and challenge us to say: Enough. True remembrance calls us to reject the normalisation of war and to work for peace.

We celebrate the appointment of Dame Sarah Mullally as Archbishop of Canterbury — a courageous step that lifts up the voices of wāhine in leadership and strengthens our shared mission of equity, compassion, and hope.

Mana wāhine, mana whānau!

Today we mourn the loss of Dr Jane Goodall — a guiding light for creation care and the protection of our common home. Her life embodied a passionate commitment to the earth, its living creatures, and the wisdom that we belong to a web of life far greater than ourselves.

We are devastated by the decision of our Government today to not recognise the state of Palestine.

We recognise Palestine today and every day.

Today, on the 80th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima, we remember and pray for all those affected by nuclear weapons. The Anglican Church has long called for the abolition of these weapons of mass destruction, and we reaffirm that commitment today. We pray for a world where peace and justice prevail, and where the threat of nuclear war is a thing of the past.
