Save Board

A text message, a photo of betterBRACE going up on a job site, and a thumbs up. No name, no message, nothing else. I didn’t have the number saved, so had no idea who sent it or which project it was...

Turned out to be a developer who came to a talk I gave a few months back on saveBOARD betterBRACE, our rigid air barrier. He had a job coming up and decided to swap out the specified product for ours. Liked the story behind it, liked the performance, and liked that its competitively priced.

We cut the sheets to the length he actually needed (he saved 7% wastage), so less time on site, less waste, and he only paid for what he used. Its not a five star Google review, its a thumbs up from someone who didn’t have to send anything at all.

Spring is a season for change. Another southerly has blanketed the mountains in fresh snow, so we headed up for a shoot with saveBOARD Exposed internal lining in White Noise and Black.

We think it's a perfect match for the alpine palette. The speckled texture comes straight from the recycled soft plastics and cartons in every board, and each one engineered to last.

The Pain Machine. You know the one if you've ever watched someone finish a set on it.

We don't sell gym gear, but we've fitted out a few gyms. Turns out the walls take almost as much punishment as the people. saveBOARD wall linings can handles the medicine balls, the sweat, the lean on the wall. Engineered from recycled packaging, carbon negative to boot.

Goes where plasterboard and plywood go, and a few places they can't.

Colour without the paint job.

Pick from around 50 pre-made colour films, like a paint swatch book for saveBOARD. Not an exact RGB match every time, but close, and it arrives pre-finished. No painter, no repaint in five years.

Message us for the swatch range.

Last weekend on the mountain: perfect spring skiing in the morning, high winds closed most of the lifts in the afternoon, polar blast overnight before driving home through a whiteout.

My ten year old said "Dad, this is climate change." Then asked the question “ What is everyone else doing?”

I don’t really have a straight answer, it only works if enough of us do our part, consumers, companies, governments. Ours is building saveBOARD panels from recyclable packaging and saving it from landfill, and making sure the home built with our products actually performs well.

Do your part where you can, using saveBOARD products is one small piece of the puzzle.

If you love NRL, you'll be watching the semis this weekend, and wondering what this has to do with saveBOARD.

Roosters vs Sharks Saturday, Warriors vs Knights Sunday at Eden Park, and all four clubs are sitting on this board.

We trialled with rebel sport to see if old NRL trading cards could go through our process using a few 1,000 as the test. Turns out they're a great feedstock, poly-coated for durability, wood fibre card.

Who knows, maybe one day your old trading cards could be future building materials.

Good luck to all four teams this weekend.
