Last night our tamariki from our early learning centres came together to celebrate Matariki with a Disco.
The theme was “Glow in the dark”. They have been learning in both centres using waiata, arts and crafts, and stories to learn all about Matariki.

Here are some pics from the disco taken by one of our koka.

Yesterday we had a mihi whakatau to welcome some of our newest staff members and some who were well overdue for their welcome.

It was great to have some of our tamariki from both centres Y Kids and Y Tamariki, youth from our Alternative Education and students from Numeracy and Literacy. Plus a representative from each of our other services.

We welcomed:
Wendy Worters - Fitness Centre
Michael Main - Numeracy and Literacy
James Packman - Y Kids
Meenu Yeshwante - Y Kids
Kirsty Moiser - Y Kids

It was a great opportunity to share and learn with our tamariki the importance whanaungatanga at the Y.

We wish our newest whanau all the best in their new roles and look forward to the mahi you bring to the Y.
