Today we celebrated one of our oldest riders 90th birthday a request from the beginning of the year "I would like to ride on my actual birthday" how could we not make this happen 🥰🥰
With Megan side walking and Aria leading it was a great day to get out and about for a birthday hack 🎉🎉

Iron Man 70.3 challenge for the RDA A personal challenge to fundraise to support the amazing mahi the Gisborne RDA does for the community.

Come and join our volunteer team here at the Gisborne RDA, we provide great conversation, well mannered and stunning looking horses and to top it off we can offer some fulfilling activities with some great local riders to help fill your community cup and give back 😎❤️

Horses were in today for some TLC and we both enjoyed a lovely hack to ensure hoiho are ready for the classes next week 🙌🙌
We can't wait to see all our riders the break has been to long 🥰🥰
We are also keen to here from you if you have a rider that may benefit from our mahi or if you have spare time to help out with our awsome team at the Gisborne RDA, volunteers are a big part of our mahi giving time to a great kaupapa helps us reach more riders

It has been an amazing year highs and lows but lots of smiles and laughs, we said goodbye to some horses and said welcome to a few others😃
Thank you to all our riders, schools, caregivers and parents for believing in our mahi, hoiho and programme🥰
We absolutely enjoy seeing all the smiles, appreciate the feedback and love being part of your journey
Bring on 2025 it's going to be great 😎

Another person/business that also supported our Summer Santa but also volunteers at the RDA, does some of our maintenance mahi, donates time, tools, trophy rugs and the odd lunch 😜Mr Charlie Reynolds and Reynolds Contracting 🥰🥰 also Megan's Husband 🤫
We are very blessed to have this guy support us did you see the ribbon holders on the spot prize table 👀👀
This was all him recycled horse shoes from the RDA and wood close to his heart as it was from a previous renovation on the old home stead 🥰
These can be for sale in the new year but for now let's just celebrate amazing people

Another celebration for the RDA in the Summer Santa show was Mr Thunder and his mate that day Axelrose Campbell entering in the Thoroughbred Class and winning Reserve Champion 🙌🙌
Judged by our amazing Jade Gunness the competition was high 🫣
This class is part of our Summer Santa to celebrate a amazing bred and their versatility ❤️❤️
Thunder is a favourite at the RDA and a go to, to give the best smiles for our riders 😃
Axelrose is also part of the LEG ONN brand that sponsored the Champion Rug for the Stock Pony Class 😎
Oh and Axel Campbell also participated on a RDA horse Ludo in the Stock Horse Class, an outing for our new team member to keep him entertained the horse not the rider 🤣 and if you haven't guessed it Axel is Axelrose's Dad and 1 of the designers of the LEG ONN Brand 🤯🤣
The reason for the posts about our RDA horses participating is not that they won anything but that these horses connect us, as whanau/friends and as a community they give so much without much in return and that is a core reason we create these fundraisers so we can provide and give what is needed for our 4 legged friends and to keep creating connection through out Te Tairawhiti (Gizzy).
