UPDATE: We are working today at half capacity.
With the state of emergency in place and severe weather expected to worsen here in the Manawatu, the safety of our team is our priority and the Pivot Design office will be working at reduced capacity.
Stay safe and we all hope to be back in the office tomorrow.
⚠️State of Emergency declared for Manawatū District ⚠️
Mayor Michael Ford has proactively declared a State of Emergency for the entire Manawatū District ahead of the severe weather forecast for this evening, overnight, and into tomorrow.
Council has activated its emergency response team and is closely monitoring river levels. Heavy rain, rising rivers, slips, flooding, strong winds, and power outages are likely.
Please take this seriously and prepare now, while there is still daylight. Make sure your devices are charged and you have a battery-powered radio handy to listen to news updates should you need it.
For the Northern District:️
👉You will receive the wind and rain first. This is modelled to arrive overnight.
Feilding and the Southern District:
👉This may impact your morning commute and throughout the day tomorrow.
👉Makino Spillway gates will be closed at 9pm tonight to protect Feilding from highwaters in the Makino Stream. Please follow the MDC page for updates.
👉Tangimoana residents, the river peak is expected midday tomorrow (Monday 16). Please follow the MDC page for updates.
⚠️Everyone should prepare by:
Move items away from areas of your property that usually flood.
Clear gutters and drains where it is safe to do so.
Bring inside anything that could be lifted by strong winds, or tie it down securely.
Bring pets inside where possible.
Charge phones and devices.
Stay away from areas at risk of slips.
Move livestock in low lying areas to paddocks that are safe from floodwaters, landslides, isolated trees, and power lines.
If a landslide occurs, keep well clear - further movement can happen without warning.
Stay out of the water and away from beaches.
Be prepared to move to higher ground if needed.
Secure boats and trailers properly.
Please take the time to check in on friends, whānau and neighbours. Call 111 if life is in danger.
Unless the conditions change, our next update will be tomorrow morning at 9am.
Follow Manawatū District Council and Civil Defence Manawatū Whanganui to stay up to date.
IMPORTANT:
Please note our hours have moved to Monday - Thursday, 8:30am - 4:30pm, and the office will be closed on Fridays.
As always, we will continue to provide exceptional work for you. These changes will not affect our turnaround time for work.
If you have any questions we are always happy to have a chat!
We get it. Following trends, using popular hashtags, posting random pretty pictures, thinking that’s how you stay relevant online.
We see it all the time. And honestly? We’ve done it too
But social media has evolved drastically over the last few years, and while posting consistently is important, unless it has a clear intention, a strong message, and a purpose that ties back to your overarching brand message, you’re simply filling up space.
Before you share your next post, ask yourself these 3 questions:
“Who am I talking to and why?”
“What problem am I solving for my audience?”
“How does this tie back to my brand message?”
Once you start asking these, our posts stop being just posts. They become:
→ Lead generation
→ Sales
→ Brand awareness
→ Storytelling
→ Strategy
→ Authentic relationships
→ Community building
It’s not just a post. It’s strategy.
Posting consistently but not seeing results? Comment “Audit” and we’ll send you our free content checklist to run through your last 5 posts.
