Reuben Cafe

We're hosting a rap event on the 3rd of September. They've currently got early bird tickets at just $5 (https://www.instagram.com/p/DbjZx3tSGYP/).

Some updates:

We will be re-opening to our usual hours on Tuesday 7th of July. We're really sorry about having to close down.

I'm currently working on a new offering. There's a few things I need to do before I'm able to offer it up but basically, it'll be a fast food option for vegans/vegetarians.

Here's how it's currently looking:
A meal consisting of crispy fried tofu tossed with a sauce of your choice (So far I have a Teriyaki Sauce and a Hot Korean sauce so there's some work to be done here). Served with wedges (I would like to replace this with chips eventually so that I can offer up a no gluten added version), 1 or 2 mini garlic and salt langos' (A hungarian fried bread. This would have to be omitted for a NGA option), and a salad (initially a coleslaw and maybe potato salad and later bean salad. I have some work to do on sourcing beans for bean salad). I'm hoping to be able to offer it up for under $25 (I'm aiming for more like $20).

I will announce it here as soon as I'm able to start selling it. It will be within the next 2 weeks.

On the Thursday July 16th, we have an album launch party. It looks like it's going to be a great time.

We're into our second week of being closed and it's looking like we might have to remain closed for the remainder of the week at this stage.

Our Wednesday Open Open Mic is cancelled for this week. Check here on Sunday to see if we're open for our Sunday Open Mic.

On the plus side, my health is getting better. I'm very conscious of the fact that I can't come back before I'm ready as I won't be able to give my all. The last thing I want is to end up back in this situation.

What's happening with Reuben Cafe?

We're really sorry about the recent closures.

Long story short, I've run myself down and gotten sick. As Reuben Cafe is running on a single person doing the coffee and food (I've had help for organizing and running events but the rest has rested on my shoulders), making for a single point of failure, I've had to shut down the cafe while I try and rest up and get my health back on track.

I will post daily updates with whether we're open or closed. This has also caused a disruption in events.

With any luck, we should be back up and running very soon.

For Sunday we're going to start introducing a couple of brunch items. This week we'll have:

Eggs and bacon on toast.
Creamy mushrooms on toast.

That's in addition to our desserts, fritatta and toasted sandwiches.

Our hours are changing!

Monday: Closed
Tuesday to Saturday: 3pm to 9pm (At least)
Sunday: 10am to 9pm (At least)

We will be adding a few breakfast/brunch items to the Sunday in the coming weeks.
