Life has been lifeing. As you know I have a rare disease called X-linked Hypophosphatemia (XLH) which causes a ton of issues for sufferers from bones, to teeth, hearing, the list is endless. The latest for me is spinal cord being compressed by my back and neck issues. My legs are going numb and it’s suddenly spreading quite quickly. I’ve also got new pains popping up and it’s been increasingly difficult to function. Neurosurgery could help stop the numbness spreading (it won’t recover any loss of feeling unfortunately) but hospital won’t ramp up my case to see neurosurgical team unless I’ve completely lost use of my legs or bowels. So I’m waiting to be seen by them in November and praying things won’t progress too quickly until then.
It’s been really tough, mentally to add this to my list of ongoing health problems and remain positive. But my family and my faith keep me going! Adrienne has been amazing and so has my family in helping out with the day to day.
I’ve had to take some time off work due to the pains leaving me feeling nauseous and unable to concentrate. We’re trying to keep my cooking content (NatCooking)rolling out but cooking has been increasingly difficult as you can imagine but thankfully I’ve filmed so many recipe videos in advance 🙏 and my brother Amu keeps us going with the edits.
God is good & I’m still pushing on! I have faith that He will see me through as He has done for the past 40 years! If you’re a person of faith and have a min to pray me up - thank u in advance! If you’re a neurosurgeon and have a minute to operate on my spine - thank u also! 😂 Chehoo! The point of this post is to gather some sympathy likes, comments and follows 😂

For anyone who is tired of being told they’re not a “real Samoan.” 🇼🇸 I’m proud to be Samoan. My grandpa came from Papa Sataua, Samoa to Aotearoa NZ as a broadcaster & teacher. He was a prominent leader in the growing Pasefika community. He even lobbied against the dawn raids in support of our pacific peoples. My nana was a machinist and fofō from Malaela, Aleipata. When people tell me I’m not a “real Samoan” it dishonours their legacy. I may not look, speak, or even act according to someone’s preconceived idea of what a real Samoan is…but that’s not my problem. Lastly, if you’re someone who goes around telling people that they’re not a real this or not a real that…enjoy my real Samoan guitar playing technique. Happy Samoan Language Week! ❤️🇼🇸🇦🇸
