Morning tea o'clock at Freedom Mobility HQ. โ˜•๐Ÿ•

There's something about the team gathering around the kitchen that just makes a Monday (or any day really) a whole lot better.

Good food, good company, and a group of people who genuinely enjoy spending time together. We reckon that says a lot about a workplace. ๐ŸŒผ

Here's to the small moments that make it all worthwhile.

This week is Samoan Language Week, a time to celebrate the richness of Samoan culture and the vibrant Pasifika community right here in Aotearoa.

To our Pasifika customers, whฤnau, and friends, we see you, we value you, and we're proud to support your independence on the road.

We've heard some great work stories over the years, but this one might just take the cake.

Our very own Julia recently opened up a car bonnet at work and found a tiny kitten tucked inside. ๐Ÿฑ

She didn't think twice. She took little Romona home, nursed her back to full health, and found her the perfect forever home, with her brother-in-law.

This is the kind of team we are. We show up for people (and apparently kittens) when it matters most.

MS can make driving a standard car impossible, but that doesn't mean driving has to stop altogether.

For many people living with multiple sclerosis, modified vehicles with hand controls or adaptive features are what stand between them and independence. The ability to get to work. To see their family. To go where they need to go, when they need to go there.

Today is World MS Day ๐Ÿ’™ and we want every New Zealander living with MS to know this option exists.

We hire modified vehicles by the day, no long-term commitment, no pressure. Just a conversation about what you need.

Access. That right there is why we do what we do. ๐Ÿ’™

Clark recently received his vehicle in Whangฤrei, and his words reminded us of the real difference accessible transport makes, not just getting from A to B, but getting back to work, back to independence, and back to life.

The New Zealand Disability Strategy 2026โ€“2030 has just been released, and at its core is a simple idea: disabled people should be able to live the life they choose.

That includes getting around.

But for too many New Zealanders with disabilities, transport is still a daily barrier. Standard vehicles don't fit their needs. Rental companies don't carry modified fleets. Independence gets traded in because the right option simply wasn't available.

We're working to change that, one vehicle, one trip, one person at a time.

If transport has been a barrier for you or someone you love, let's talk.

Getting around in a standard car usually means transfers in and out of your wheelchair.

Hire cars arenโ€™t set up for accessibility.
And organising specialised transport every time you go somewhere? It gets complicated fast.

Thatโ€™s why we make it simpler ๐Ÿš

Our wheelchair-accessible vans are designed so you can travel safely and comfortably in your wheelchair for the entire journey, whether youโ€™re driving or a passenger.

With ramps or hoists, secure wheelchair restraint systems, and proper internal space, everything is set up so you can just get in and go.

No unnecessary transfers. No extra stress. Just more freedom to move.

You choose where youโ€™re going, weโ€™ll sort the vehicle.

๐ŸŽ‰ Happy Retirement, Frank! ๐ŸŽ‰

Today we say a huge farewell to one of our longest-serving and most valued team members - Frank! ๐Ÿ™Œ

After an incredible 11 years with the Freedom Mobility / Vehicle Adaptions whฤnau, Frank is hanging up his tools and heading into a well-deserved retirement. Eleven years of dedication, hard work, and being a cornerstone of our team.

Frank, you've made such a lasting impact on all of us and the many clients we serve together.
We celebrated in style with cake, treats, and plenty of laughs, but no celebration could truly capture just how much Frank means to this team. ๐Ÿ’›

Frank, we wish you nothing but sunshine, rest, and all the good things retirement brings. You will be truly missed - but we know you've more than earned this next chapter!

Thank you for everything. Enjoy every moment! ๐Ÿฅ‚

Most rental companies have zero modified vehicles. Zero.

That's not a minor inconvenience. It means being locked out of independent travel entirely.

Today is Global Accessibility Awareness Day ๐ŸŒ and this is exactly the gap Freedom Mobility was built to fill.

New Zealand's largest modified vehicle rental fleet. Nationwide. Delivered to you.

Because you deserve the freedom to live life on your terms.

โ™ฟ Such wonderful news for the South Island! The opening of Dunedin's first Changing Places bathroom is a huge step forward for accessibility and community inclusion.

For many of the people we work with, access to safe and dignified facilities like this is what makes getting out and about possible. A height-adjustable toilet, change table, hoist, these aren't luxuries, they're necessities.

We love seeing infrastructure catch up with the needs of disabled people and their whฤnau. Here's hoping this is just the beginning, and we see more Changing Places facilities popping up across New Zealand! ๐Ÿ™Œ
