Today is Gumboot Friday.

Each year in New Zealand, between 120 and 180 young people die by su***de and it is estimated another 3500 attempt to take their own lives. While Government agencies are doing their best some young people are stuck waiting up to six months to receive the counselling they so urgently need.

I AM HOPE aims to promote positive attitudinal societal change around mental health throughout New Zealand, and fund private care and counselling for young people stuck-in-the-mud on waiting lists. They offer hope and a voice to young people in our country through various projects including school tours, practical courses such as a barber and barista course, allowing people to share their own journeys through a podcast series 'HopeCast' and much more.
