We built our values together as a team, talking through what matters to us, the standards we expect from each other, and the kind of business we want NZ Builders to be. The result was four simple values: Look After It, Sharp Pencils, Own The Job and Sweep The Floor.
They’re now a guiding force across the business, shaping how we communicate with clients and each other, the decisions we make, and the standards we hold ourselves to on site.

That’s the kind of feedback we love hearing. Our Parnell renovation had plenty to work through along the way, so keeping things calm, clear and moving forward was a big focus for Jesse and the team.
It was also great to hear the clients talk about the pride the guys took in the work itself. Not just getting it done, but making sure the quality was something everyone was genuinely happy with.
A great result, and just as importantly, a really positive experience getting there.

Anyone who spends enough time on site knows the earlier stages can be some of the best to look at. Coatesville has been full of strong lines, interesting angles and good light from framing through to roofing. As always, it's all about enjoying the process, not just the end result.

Some sites have something a bit special about them, and our ongoing Orakei project is definitely one of them. We’re racing towards getting the roof on, and the guys are no doubt enjoying the views along the way.

Meet Chrissy, the person keeping plenty of things moving behind the scenes at NZ Builders.�
Chrissy has been with us for five years, looking after the admin and all those jobs that need doing to keep the business running smoothly. She keeps us organised, keeps us boys in check, and does it all with a great attitude.
A top person and a big part of the team!

A Gold Award takes a team, and a few of us were lucky enough to celebrate together on the night thanks to .
Another huge thanks needs to go out to our NZ Builders team, our clients, CA Architecture, and all of the subcontractors, suppliers and partners who put so much into this build. There were a lot of people and a lot of work behind the finished home, and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone who was involved.

Our Manly project has taken home a Gold Award at the 2026 Master Builders House of the Year Awards, and it’s a pretty special result for a project the team put a huge amount into. From the beachfront setting through to the finer interior details, there was plenty to get right along the way, so we couldn’t be prouder to see this one recognised.
We love a challenge, and renovating while the clients are still living on site is definitely providing this.
At our ongoing Point Chev project, we’re carrying out a substantial renovation across both the interior and exterior, all while the family continues living in the home. For us, that means keeping communication clear, planning access carefully and making sure everyone knows what’s happening next.
