I used to love contact naps… until they became the only way sleep happened.

I didn’t want to stop them completely, I just needed a bit more balance.

And once we found a rhythm of cot naps and contact naps, I started to feel like myself again.

Sometimes one cot nap a day can give you just enough space to breathe.

If you are ready for one cot nap a day, comment NAP and let’s chat x

Your baby’s sleep doesn’t have to be “bad enough” for you to ask for help.

I’ve worked with families whose babies were already sleeping through the night, but day naps were all contact naps and mum desperately wanted one cot nap.

And from the outside, it would be easy to think, “But your baby sleeps all night, what more could you want?”

But that’s not how this works.

If something isn’t working for you, you’re allowed to want support to change it.

If your baby wakes before your ideal morning time, try to respond like it’s 1am.

Keep the room dark.
Keep things quiet and boring.
Offer support if they need it.
Avoid starting the day too early if you can.

This doesn’t mean your baby will always go back to sleep straight away.

But it helps protect their body clock from learning that 5am is the new morning.

Early wakes suck so give this a try for a week and if you are still struggling DM me EARLY and let’s chat about how I can help with early wakes!

Before you change your baby’s routine again tonight because something online made you second guess everything…pause.

One of the biggest reasons families get stuck is because they’re changing too many things too quickly.

A later bedtime one night.
Earlier bedtime the next.
Shorter naps.
Not capping naps.
Bigger awake window.
Changing how you settle them.

And before you know it, you will have no idea what is actually helping!

My golden rule is give any changes 3-5 days of consistency before deciding it hasn’t worked.

One rough day or night doesn’t mean it failed, sometimes your baby just needs time.

So many families come to me feeling like nothing is working with their baby’s sleep.

They’ve tried wake windows.
Bedtime tweaks.
ChatGPT.
Google.
TikTok.

An when nothing sticks it’s easy to feel like you’re doing something wrong. But often the missing thing is more advice.

It’s having someone look at the full picture and create a plan that actually fits your baby and your family. That’s what my 1:1 support is for.

If you’re stuck with the “I’ve tried everything and nothing work stage”, comment below or DM me SUPPORT and let’s chat about how I can support your family x

Winter has officially started and room temp matters more than we realise when it comes to overnight wakes for baby’s and toddlers, especially from around 3am onwards when the temperature naturally drops.

And if you’re moving away from rocking, holding, feeding to sleep or co-sleeping, making sure your baby is warm enough is key. They’re used to your body heat, so being comfortable in their own sleep space can make a big difference.

I recommend this specific heater to all my clients who don’t have suitable heating because it ticks all the boxes and it’s often on sale too.

I’ve used this heater for the last 12 months and honestly couldn’t fault it.

Returning to work after having a baby is a lot 😮‍💨

And if your baby’s sleep is still all over the place, it can feel even heavier.

Because it’s not just the night wakes.

It’s the alarm going off after broken sleep.
It’s trying to function at work when you’ve been up multiple times overnight.
It’s the mental load of wondering how naps are going at daycare.
It’s getting home already exhausted and still having dinner, bath, bedtime and overnight wakes ahead of you.

I get it.

As a mum of two, I know how different sleep feels when you’re also trying to show up at work the next day.

Wanting sleep to feel easier before, during or after your return to work is not selfish.

It’s survival.

If you’re heading back to work and worried about how sleep is going to impact everything, send me a DM with WORK and let’s chat about support 🤍

ChatGPT can absolutely give you baby sleep information.

A routine.
Wake windows.
Nap ideas.
General tips.

But information is not the same as personalised support.
Because your baby’s sleep is not just about their age.

It’s their temperament, feeding, naps, nights, settling, family rhythm, your comfort level, and what is actually sustainable for you.

And sometimes the thing you’re asking ChatGPT to validate might be the exact thing keeping you stuck.

Use it for ideas, sure.

But if sleep feels heavy, confusing or like you’ve tried everything and still don’t know what to do next that’s where personalised support matters.

DM me SLEEP if you want support that actually looks at your baby and your family.

Full disclosure I wanted to re-record this but there’s only so many times I can say chat gpt and get it right 😂😂

Wanting sleep to feel easier does not make you selfish.
It does not mean you love your baby any less.

It might just mean you’re tired of guessing, tired of feeling like the only one who can settle, tired of your whole day revolving around naps, or just tired in general.

And that is valid.

Sleep support is not about forcing something that doesn’t feel right.

It’s about helping you find a way forward that feels realistic, responsive and sustainable for your family.

DM me SLEEP if you’re ready for support 🤍
