Over the weekend, the PFL team had the privilege of hosting some of our valued clients at the Kiwi vs Tonga Rugby League game. It was an incredible atmosphere full of passion, pride, and connection both on and off the field.

A huge thank you to our guests Siua Shipping, Fresha, and Nassau for joining us. It’s always a pleasure to spend time together outside of the usual day-to-day, strengthening relationships and celebrating the shared love of sport and community.

Moments like these remind us how strong the Pacific spirit truly is. Whether it’s on the field or in business, it’s all about teamwork, trust, and shared goals.

Last month, our General Manager Shelly Wright with local staff had the privilege of visiting the Samoa Victim Support Group (SVSG Samoa) to present a donation (of SAT $10,000). We were honoured to hand over the cheque to President Siliniu Lina Chang, whose leadership continues to inspire and uplift the community.

At PFL, we believe in giving back to the community. As a shipping and logistics provider founded by Pacific Island nations, we are committed to supporting local initiatives that make a positive impact. Our philosophy is simple: "What can we do to help the customer?" not just with their cargo, but with their quality of life.

We are proud to stand with SVSG Samoa in their mission to support victims of violence and promote social justice. Together, we can continue to build stronger, more resilient communities in Samoa.

Daley Solomona is feeling at home in Samoa

Daley, and wife Natalie, packed up their life in Auckland earlier this year and moved to Apia with the goal of a better pace of life, being close to family, and enjoying regular weekends at the beach (not just a 2-week holiday in Samoa once a year)
Stepping into the role of Sales Manager for PFL Samoa was something new for Daley after a career in operations, risk and compliance in the finance and banking industries as well as working for Government. We thought we’d check in on how Samoa and the new role are going so far.

How are you enjoying Samoa?
It’s been a good move for us. Work can be full on but it’s still a different pace of life, the weather is great most of the time, and we try to get out to explore Samoa’s many beautiful beaches and waterfalls and get involved in local community events.
Family is important to me, and with extended family here in Samoa we get more time together and can enjoy that time in paradise.

What’s your impression of the Shipping and Logistics Industry?
I love it – I’m constantly learning and, after a career working in both the private and public sectors, it’s been great to meet people who are using international logistics to be successful in business, understand more about what they do and how PFL can assist them with their requirements.
Every day is challenging and exciting whether it’s finding a new solution to getting cargo to China or the USA, meeting our amazing customers from a variety of industries, or getting stuck in to do good in the community.

What is PFL Samoa all about?
We have a strong family environment here in Samoa and I’m happy to be a part of it. Everyone looks out for each other. We celebrate our team as much as we can, whether it be for Birthdays, Church events and everything from community events like Pinktober to supporting our team through the sadder events like funerals. That’s what you do as a family - you support each other - and the same respect, care, and values we demonstrate for each other we extend to our customers.

What do you want to achieve in the next 12-months?
I want to make sure our relationship with our customers is stronger than ever. I love engaging with our customers and learning about their stories, challenges and what we need to do to help their business throughout the Pacific and beyond.
I think the most important thing for me right now is getting my face and the PFL brand out there and I’m excited about how the Samoa community gives me opportunities to get involved, meet new manufacturers building our economy, and do good in a community I’m proud to be a part of.

Our new 16T ‘Blade’ Counterbalance Forklift getting ready to be shipped to PFL Apia. Alongside a Hyster (Single Pick) 5-ECH, for handling empty containers, we are boosting our resources in Samoa to improve reliability and keep up with demand in the busy Apia Port.
