Auckland Central RDA
Auckland Central RDA is a voluntary, not-for-profit organisation which provides opportunities for anyone with a disability.
ACRDA provides interaction with horses to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for people experiencing disability, or who have specific challenges or needs, enabling them to have meaningful participation in, and contribution to, their community.

At RDA, riders are never defined by the challenges they face.
They are seen for their strengths, who they are, and what they can achieve.
For Elliot, RDA has become a place of confidence, belonging, routine, and connection, not just for her, but for her whole family. 💙

I was lucky enough to be at the NZRDA conference and hear this speech in person. Horse welfare is at the forefront of everything we do at ACRDA

Our horses are so wonderful!
The more we learn about horses, the more extraordinary they become. 💙

A wonderful piece of feedback from the parent of one of our Riders
I love taking pics of Charlie riding but these pics of him sitting, talking and connecting with all the wonderful volunteers are also an important part of RDA. Thank you.

Tango is a 12.2hh 10 year old Dun gelding and he is the smallest pony we have had in quite a while. His size has made him an excellent choice for our very intensive Riders who require a full hold and our smaller Riders. His personality has given him a lot of fans with the volunteers and Riders.
11 year old Jemma and her family are his owners and lend him to ACRDA each week. They are members of Meadowbank Pony Club and we are very grateful to all the owners at the Pony Club who lend us their ponies and horses each week to enable us to do riding therapy.
Jemma has been learning to walk, trot and canter and has started jumping over small jumps. She has also been learning how to look after her pony and loves him very much

This Road Safety Week, NZRDA is supporting the NZ Vulnerable Road User Charitable Trust and helping spread a message that keeps our community safe: Pass Wide and Slow.
When driving near horses and riders:
✖️Passing too close
✖️Passing too fast
✅ Slow down
✅ Give space
✅ Pass wide and slow
