Supporting neurodiverse young adults to gain meaningful, paid employment. Promoting diversity in the workplace.

When employers ask us why they should hire a Project Employ graduate, we could talk about retention, workplace culture, and untapped talent. But honestly, stories like this say more than we ever could.

Recently, a guest at The Hotel Britomart left a glowing review of their stay. Among all the things they could have mentioned, they took the time to specifically mention André.

What makes this even more special is that the team told us it's quite rare for staff members to be mentioned by name in guest reviews.

André has been working at The Hotel Britomart since January 2025 after completing his training at Flourish Cafe. Since then, he has become a valued member of their team, bringing positivity and warmth to every shift.

The Project Employ team are incredibly proud of André and grateful to The Hotel Britomart for seeing his potential and creating an environment where he can thrive.

Congratulations, André! You continue to blow us all away. 🎉 👏

We could not be prouder to see Project Employ graduate Liam officially hired by Sudima Hotels Auckland City after completing his internship through Sudima Hotel’s Open Doors programme 🎉

Liam is the first Project Employ graduate to move through Sudima’s internship pathway at the city hotel, which feels pretty special to see.

What’s been great about this partnership is the focus on creating genuine pathways into employment without many of the usual hiring barriers. When young disabled and neurodivergent people are given the right environment, support, and time to build confidence, they thrive.

Liam has worked hard for this opportunity and it’s been awesome watching his growth throughout the Project Employ training programme, internship and into paid employment.

Big thanks to the team at Sudima for continuing to approach inclusive hiring in such a flexible, practical and intentional way. 🫶

Here’s to more opportunities and more employers willing to think differently 👏
