That's what another agent told the owner. Even if that were true, it's only part of the job.

Healthy Homes is one section of the Residential Tenancies Act. The same act also requires a landlord to maintain the property in a reasonable state of repair and to meet building, health and safety requirements. Mould through the ceiling lining and water damage isn't a Healthy Homes technicality — it's a maintenance and repair issue that sits with the owner either way.

A compliance statement on file is not a warrant of fitness for the whole tenancy.
