This has to be one of my favourite pieces in the collection. There’s something about the combination of solid timber and Breche Fantastique marble that gives the Chronicle Coffee Table a real sense of permanence. It’s designed to live with you for years, gathering stories, celebrations and everyday moments along the way.

Project In Focus | Dolly

Dolly by Studio John Irving Architects is a considered reworking of an inner-city Auckland villa, retaining the original heritage façade while creating something entirely contemporary behind it.

Centred around an internal courtyard, the home is effortlessly calming, with natural light, greenery and a restrained natural palette bringing softness to the architecture.

I’ve never been particularly interested in designing something simply to make an immediate statement. I’m instead drawn to what makes a piece continue to feel right years later. Proportion, material, comfort and the way it relates to the space around it matters far more than novelty. The Chronicle Dining Table is the embodiment on this. A forever piece.

The Walker Chair began with contrast.

I wanted the frame to feel lean and architectural, tracing a simple line around a much softer, more generous place to sit. The result is a chair that has presence, the steel structure doing just enough, while the upholstery brings the comfort.
