Throwback Thursday.
Here's my Suzuki TL1000S custom called " Katipo " I built for the 2018 Brighton Bike Show before moving back to NZ.
Frame off custom rebuild.
Sold at the show in less than an hour, fantastic bike
I used a titanium 3 stage paint, super trick for it's time.
Triumph Thruxton front screen and GPS gauge cluster, custom made seat unit, clear clutch cover, full rewire, custom loom.
* I just love the line from screen, along the tank to the seat hump 😲
Anyone can do this, start small, learn the techniques and just keep applying them.

Use a Dremel to remove casting flash from E2 race carb manifolds and increase your horse power.

* Leave the finish inside rough , not polished to increase turbulence for the atomised fuel.
It's just science folks, it works 😎👍

Took a moment from the bikes to attend Maguire's cars and coffee @. Auckland ASB showgrounds last Sunday.
800 cars turned up , always a pleasure to see folks pride and joy, regardless of make or model.
I drove my 1994 GMC Pickup K1500 which I traded for an old Ford Tickford Ute I was restoring.

I literally knew nothing about V8 pushrod engines but through friends and YouTube videos managed to get the truck to a daily driving state.

*Fully rebuild a set of cracked heads.
*Remove all Aircon components and smog pump system.
*Replace radiator and add electric fans with a temp control switch
*Headers and 3 inch stainless exhaust
*Upgraded timing chain set
*Rebuild fuel injection system & fuel pump
*New Bilstein shocks
*New sump gasket ( horrible job on a 4x4)
*Transmission upgraded servos,filter and flush
*Panel and paint
*New tyres , align and balance

All done on my driveway , much to my neighbours delight 🤣🤣
Hard to imagine my skill set started in the metalwork room at highschool.
Skill sets that will last a lifetime , do you think AI could do any of this? 🤣🤣

It's a good time if you have never done it before.
Run a thread chaser/ cleaner down your manifold or exhaust bolt holes.
Replace the bolts with new ones, add some anti seize.
Inspect the gasket.
So many heat cycles, it's just a matter of time before those bolts snap off and that's a job you really don't want to have to deal with ......😎
