DID YOU SPEND SOME OF YOUR CHILDHOOD IN STARSHIP HOSPITAL? WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!

We are celebrating the success of Starship Hospital and Mercury's 25 years supporting Starship. One of NZ's top directors is making 3 short films about the experience of ex-Starship patients and how it’s shaped people’s lives!

Who:

We really want to hear from Ex Starship patients who are now ADULTS (18 and over) - we want people who are happy to talk about their experience as a child at Starship Hospital. You will be on camera but really just a simple chat and open answers in a one on one interview style.
While the reality of your journey could be raw and emotive, we’re after people whose personality shines through, leaving us with a sense of positivity and appreciation of the amazing work carried out at Starship.

There is no acting required, we want the real person to shine through!

You can live anywhere in NZ – if cast in a role any travel and accommodation costs will be covered by the Production Company

Dates and Payment:

This is a paid opportunity. If you are selected for a role you will be required for 1 day of filming on Thursday 10th September. Anyone applying must be available for this date.
If selected for the campaign you will be paid $6000 (minus tax)

It will air on NZ TV, video on demand, the Internet and Social Media for 1 year. There will also be a stills/print and Outdoor (eg. billboards) component to the campaign.
Please note that there is no payment for auditioning.

What to Include in your Video:

- Your age at the time and reason for your stay at Starship.
- The impact it had on your and your family’s life.
- Your relationship with Starship staff.
- How your experience at Starship has shaped your life since.
- What’s your life like now? Family, work, interests & hobbies
- Tell us if you have any photographs and/or video footage from that time, we might ask to see and use some of this later to tell your story.

Once we have a shortlist we may also ask some people to attend an interview in person at Catch Casting or on Zoom around the 1st September 2026.

Christmas called and it wants you in this ad!

We are looking for a variety of people to appear in a TV commercial we are casting for one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s biggest brands. It will be filmed in and around the Auckland area, so you will need to live there or very nearby

The roles we are looking to cast are:
A real older couple - aged 70 - 80 years old
A real husband and wife AND their real brother / male mate / cousin - all aged 35 - 45 years old
A real family - Mum & Dad aged 30 - 40s and their three kids aged 4 - 10 years old

Feel free to apply on behalf of a family member with their permission!

DATES & PAYMENT…
Auditions will be in Auckland in the week of 24th August

If you are selected for a role you will be required for 1 day of filming on 21st September 2026. The exact location in Auckland will depend on the production schedule. Anyone applying must be available for this date.
If selected for the campaign you will be paid between $3000 - $4000 each (minus tax) for Adults depending on the role you are cast in, and $1500 each (minus tax) for kids. More details will be provided during the audition process

It will air on NZ TV and Internet, in Cinemas, Instore & Outdoor screens, and a small Print component in stores. This is a Christmas campaign so will only screen for 3 months

CASTING FOR YOUNG MEN AGED 18 – 24

We are looking for young men who live in NZ to appear in a TV commercial we are casting. This project is about healthy masculine behaviour and growth.
Using humour and a party environment we are wanting to represent the opposite of the toxic manosphere and redirect it towards something more positive.

DATES & PAYMENT…
If you are selected for a role you will be required for 1 day of filming in Auckland on the 5th August 2026. There will also be some paid rehearsals prior to this.
Anyone applying must be available for these dates and would need to get to Auckland for the shoot.

Those selected for the campaign will be paid $8000 (minus tax) for a lead role or $2750 for a smaller role.

It will air on Cinema, Internet/Social Media, Indoor and Outdoor Screens for 1 year in NZ.
You will be paid an additional amount if it goes onto TV as well.

Please note that there is no payment for auditioning.

CASTING IN OTAGO & SOUTHLAND ON BEHALF OF A NZ BRAND

We are looking for a variety of people to appear in a TV commercial we are casting for one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s biggest brands.

It will be filmed in and around the Otago area, mainly Dunedin and near Queenstown but we are interested in people from all over Otago and Southland.

The roles we are looking to cast are:

Older Women aged about 70 or over
Tradies aged 25 – 60 years old
A Real Grandad and his Grandson aged 16 – 18 and learning to drive
A Real Couple – aged 18 – 25 years old
A Real Mum and her Son aged 30 – 45 years old and aged 6 – 9 years old
Two Young Women - Real Friends / Flatmates aged 18 – 22 years
Real Families – Parents aged 35 – 50 years old, Kids aged 5 – 12 years old
Everyday, characterful locals – any adult age, gender, and ethnicity
People who speak Te reo Māori – any adult age, gender, and ethnicity. You don’t need to be fluent!

DATES & PAYMENT…
If you are selected for a role you will be required for 1 day of filming between 24th – 31st July 2026, the exact day and location will depend on the production schedule.

If selected for the campaign you will be paid between $2500 - $6500 (minus tax) each depending on the role you are cast in.
It will air on TV, Internet/Social Media, Outdoor Screens, and Cinema for 1 year.
Some people will be paid an additional amount if they appear in a larger Print campaign
