My kids are all grown up now, but I remember juggling work, the cost of school holidays and finding ways to keep them entertained.

Walking through the Auckland Botanic Gardens this morning, I saw a million little things to do together.
Watch the ducks,
spot spiderwebs shining in the sun,
smell the spring flowers and explore the rocks and moss.

How lucky are we to have this beautiful place right here in Manurewa, South Auckland? 💚

A little adventure away from screens and hopefully enough to tire the kids out for an earlier bedtime! 😂

Most tenants bring their own appliances.

So if you’re setting up an unfurnished rental property, think twice before leaving a washing machine behind.

It might seem helpful now, but eventually it may need repairing, replacing or removing. That’s an expense for the landlord and potentially an inconvenience for the tenant.

One of the weirdest things I do as a Property Manager… 🎂✍️

I handwrite birthday cards to some of my landlords.

These guys are what I call my founding members the landlords who trusted me when I first started Let’s Rent.

Right at the beginning, I collected their birthdays so I could send them a card every year.

And I still do it.

The funny thing is, some of them I’ve now looked after for years and I’ve never actually met them in person. 😂

I know their properties.
I know their tenants. I know their birthdays. I have their money !

But I may not actually know what they look like. 😂

It’s a little tradition I started when the business was new, and I’ve just never stopped.

Property management is about property, yes but for me, it’s always been about the people too. ❤️
