Pacific Rugs NZ

We’ve been a little quiet over here.. but definitely not standing still 🤎

Behind the scenes, we’ve been taking the time to refine our process, raise our standards and think carefully about what we want the next chapter of Pacific Rugs NZ to look like.

We don’t want to create just for the sake of releasing something. We want every piece we put out into the world to reflect the quality, craftsmanship and vision we’re building this brand around.

So while things may have looked quiet from the outside, there has been plenty happening behind the scenes.

Pacific Rugs NZ is still here. Still creating. Still learning. And building something we’re really proud of.

Thank you to everyone who has checked in, followed along and continues to believe in what we’re creating. 🤎

More soon.

Every business starts somewhere..

There isn't a moment where you suddenly feel "ready"

You start.
You get stuck.
You figure it out.
You get better.

That's exactly how we're building Pacific Rugs NZ.. one step, one lesson, and one rug at a time ✨

Thank you for being part of our journey 🫶🏾

Still a work in progress, but this hibiscus beauty is already becoming one of my favorite pieces yet ✨️

Wait until you see the final carve 👀

So... this is why I've been quiet for the last 2 weeks 😅

My biggest rug yet: 2m x 1.5m 🧶

✨ 60 hours of tufting
✨ 6kg of wool
✨ Around 10km of yarn
✨ 3-4 days waiting for materials to arrive
✨ Wayyyyy too many tufting gun re-threads to count 😭
✨ A LOT of learning

And somehow... it's STILL not finished 😂

✅ Tufting done
⬜ Backing still to go on
⬜ Shaving & carving still to come

This is officially the largest rug I've ever made and it's pushed me to learn more than any project before it.

Thank you to everyone who's been patient while I've been a little quiet. I'm still very much a student in this craft, but seeing these rugs come to life makes all the late nights worth it.

Now wait until you see the carving... 👀🔥

Not every part of building a dream looks glamorous.

Sometimes it looks like long nights, sore hands, sawdust on the floor… and the people who quietly help you build it beside you.

This is the part no one really sees.
But this is where the story begins ✨️

Pacific Rugs NZ is being built slowly, intentionally, and with meaning behind every detail 🤎

We’re still in our early stages… refining, learning, creating, and building something we’re proud of.

Thank you for being here from the beginning 🤎

Not mass-produced, not rushed. Just meaningful pieces made with intention 🤎

All of our rugs are made at home and with love 🤎

Behind the scenes of our very first sample piece 🤎
The rug that started it all — imperfect, experimental, and full of story. A quiet beginning to something much bigger for Pacific Rugs NZ
