Season Recap!
As the dust settles for 2024-2025 season, I feel we stepped into an unknown territory. In the past 5 years of being in the sport, I’ve had to learn how to crew chief, build and maintain my own car. I had no idea about anything to do with Midget Cars.
This season whilst I wasn't racing I decided to become a crew chief and car owner for an International Star, just wanting to help whoever I could that wanted it, I had no true proven results with my setups besides my own, my car was only as good as I had driven it, we had a lot of bad luck last season and couldn’t truely get the results we felt we deserved. I wanted to test myself and my knowledge and see how far right or wrong I was with what I knew.
It’s been a hell of an experience, with some great results to go with it. We’ve set a record with the ammount of liveries, numbers, drivers, and seats fitted into one car for a season 🤣
Along with setting other drivers cars up for the night. It’s truely been a privilege and great learning experience.
Drivers I’ve crew chiefed this season:
Jayedan Basalaj
Terence Dorrell
Matt Watson
Ethan Mitchell
Brad Mosen
Karl McGill
We got some great results with Karl McGill picking up 2nd at North Island Champs, Terence Dorrel placing in the Top 5 and 10 on multiple occasions throughout his rookie season, Brad Mosen running 4th at Kihikihi, Matt Watson starting 3rd for the 96 lapper and gaining a huge ammount of confidence back from his hiatus from the sport. Shane Dewar picking up a Feature Win at Palmerston North in our car, Jayedan Basalaj running 2nd and 4th in the features and 2nd equal over Easter Weekend having run 3 shows all season, and of course Ethan Mitchell who took Quick Time, multiple heat wins, 2nd at Waikaraka and potentially a podium at the Bay51 before a flat tire over Internationalonals.
I want to give a Big Thanks to all the drivers and teams entrusting me with their equipment and lives with my setups, I hope they’re all happy with their placings as much as I am. I didn’t get it right everytime but we sure as hell Learnt from the mistakes.
Now we look forward to next season for me to get back in the saddle and try do as good as those who I’ve helped this season!

What a weekend!
One car, One Goal, we achieved it. Nothing beats racing with your mates and achieving success.
Thanks to Neville and Ryan for crewing and helping on the car, big thanks to Jayedan for steering it like a crazy fu**er tonight.
Thank You to everyone who donated tires for our venture, and Shane Dewar from Dewtec for supplying us a place to service the car.
Time to go home and start prep for next season!

Easter Bunny called, and said he wanted the iconic duo back!
Two washed up drivers, one who’s had too many pies and ones who’s been retired for less than 48 hours. One car, one goal.
The Easter Bunny begged and we delivered. Car hadn’t been touched in 3 weeks, needed a service, the car was in her birthday suit with a tinge of purple lingerie. SevenThree within 3 hours had an idea, Hotrod.
Car Designed, Tires scrapped from last years throw aways, Fuel siphoned from every methanol drum in west Auckland. Panels beat up harder than Michael Chandler, Winz Fuel Card approved and within 24 hours we’re going racing!
Jordan McDonnell Racing presents the 73A Hotrod CP3X driven by none other than the recently retired Last Man Standing - Jayedan Basalaj for this weekends Easter Bunny Shootout in Palmerston North!
See you there :)
Ready for testing tomorrow! Excited to see my car out there ripping again!
