Why did we choose algae oil for our Omega-3?

The original source of marine omega-3 is microalgae. Fish get their EPA and DHA by eating algae (directly or indirectly) through the marine food chain.

What the studies say about GLA & H**p Seed Oil 🌿

Not all omega-6 fats are the same.

H**p Seed Oil naturally contains gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) — a plant-based omega-6 fatty acid that the body can convert into DGLA, compounds involved in regulating inflammatory pathways.

But what does the research actually say?

🔬 Skin & barrier support
In a 20-week randomised crossover study, people with atopic dermatitis who consumed H**p Seed Oil showed increased levels of essential fatty acids, including GLA. The study also reported improvements in skin dryness and itchiness, along with reduced use of topical medication.

H**p Seed Oil is naturally rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, particularly linoleic acid (omega-6) and alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3), with GLA also present.

🧬 Why GLA is interesting
Research suggests GLA can influence the balance of fatty-acid-derived signalling molecules involved in inflammatory processes. However, clinical results from GLA supplementation are not always consistent, so it’s important not to overstate what the evidence shows.
