As the lights came down on Romeo & Juliet last night for the final time I felt an intense surge of emotions: overwhelming love, undeniable grief, and utter joy.

Thank you to every single person who came along, to laugh, support, cry and perhaps ponder new thoughts on love, life and Shakespeare. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and my soul too.

It has been an immense privilege to play with our wildly talented ensemble night after night, day after day! To feel this connected, held and passionate on a production isn’t always guaranteed and I can honestly say that I love each and every one of the brilliant people who created this show. With specific thanks to Ben and Katrina for fostering such a beautiful rehearsal environment xx

We may have said goodbye to our Verona but these lovers (the entire cast, creatives and crew) will live on in my heart forever ❤️

HAPPY LAMMAS DAY!

What a joy and privilege it is to perform Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet on this Lammas Eve (July 31st) and Lammas Day (Aug 1st) Nurse recalls the Eve as it marks her darling Juliet’s and her late Susan’s birthdays.

It is the celebration of the first fruits of the harvest, particularly wheat, and is historically known as “Loaf Mass” in Old English.
