The shed’s been buzzing all morning with a solid turnout. Callum and Mark, along with Sarah and Dave, are on the stand and keen to have a yarn with farmers. If you’re in town, come and say g’day.

We’re excited to share that Open Country will be exhibiting at the NZ Dairy Expo in Matamata – our first time at this event.

If you’re heading along, we’d love you to come and say hello, meet the team, and have a chat about what’s happening at Open Country and across the dairy sector.

The NZ Dairy Expo is a great chance to connect with farmers, suppliers and industry partners, and we’re really looking forward to being part of it for the first time.

Join us for daily Cheese Tastings at 12pm and 2pm, hosted by Paul Fitzsimons from Geraldine Cheese Company. Enjoy award-winning Open Country cheeses paired with:
🧀 Beer at 12pm
🧀 Wine & Gin at 2pm

Our Milk Supply, Environmental, and Executive teams will be there for a friendly chat over a drink and something tasty to nibble on.

Sample a delicious range of award‑winning Open Country cheeses, enjoy perfectly matched beverages, and meet our special guest Paul Fitzsimons, our cheese tasting host!

Paul is a respected New Zealand artisan cheesemaker known for his inventive small batch cheeses crafted from cow, goat, sheep and even deer milk. In our early days, Paul quietly supported Open Country by helping our teams understand best practice cheesemaking, contributing to the quality foundations we continue to build on today.

We’re excited to have Paul leading our Open Country cheese tastings at Southern Field Days, sharing his practical experience, and genuine passion for exceptional cheese and educating people about New Zealand cheeses.
