This year’s theme is:
Wellbeing Begins with Communication – Kōrero is Connection
He oranga te kōrero – Communication is wellness

Together, we’ll be celebrating the powerful link between communication and wellbeing, for our clients, communities, and ourselves as SLTs.

🌟 Milestone Monday! 🌟

Wondering if your 2-year-old’s speech and language development is on track? 🤔💬

By age 2, children should be able to:

🗣️ Say around 50 words
💬 Combine 2 words (“More juice”, “Bye Daddy”)
🧠 Understand basic questions (“Where’s your ball?”)
👂 Follow simple directions (“Get your shoes”)

But every child develops at their own pace—and that’s okay!

If your child isn’t meeting these milestones or you’re unsure, trust your gut. Early support can make a big difference.

This year was the year I made the decision to leave my role at Kidz First and focus fully on growing Little Leaps. What a year it’s been! We are so grateful for the amazing children and families we’ve had the privilege of working with.
