That's a wrap with Steve Sollberger being the winner this year with a very good haul of 5.995kg. Pictures show Steve lurking in the undergrowth and obviously gobsmacked with his win (for a year) of the immense Titanic Tuber Trophy made of left over broken gardening tools and motorcycle junk. The cash prize probably helped that look of disbelief as well.

Second place was taken by that stalwart of potato growing, Lance Mackie (5.79kg) and 3rd place went to Owen Phillips (5.685kg) all previous placegetters and usually good performers. Thursday nights epic country dig saw early leads established by Jeff Oldham and Trev Carline with around 3kg each. Honourable mentions go to our host Jesse Wight with 5.065kg and a creditable bag from Paul McAuley with 3.325kg. Commiseration's extended to all the also rans like me, languishing in the lower echelons, note to self: Must do better next year.

Many thanks to Jesse for the venue and all contestants for pitching in an helping cook, eat and be merry on the night. Also many thanks to Jody and Annie our drivers on thursday night.
