Notice from Nepal 🇳🇵 Department of immigration regarding RAP permits.

There are reposts that some trekking agencies and FIT trekkers are operating/going treks without obtaining RAP in such restricted areas.
Foreign tourists are requested to go on walks only with permission from the Tourism Department in the prohibited areas. Department spokesperson Tikaram Dhakal issued a press release on Wednesday requesting foreign tourists to carry out illegal activities in the prohibited area without permission.

The Department of Tourism has stated that action will be taken in accordance with the legal provisions of the Mountaineering Regulations, which prohibit the accommodation of other people in the base camp without the prior approval of the department, except for members of the mountaineering team, chiefs, mountain guides, workers going to high altitudes, base camp workers, and local workers, and action will be taken if anyone is found to have acted contrary to the said legal provisions.
