Last week, the first automated store section at our new Forus facility entered operation - with the finishing touches added this week. 📸

This system tracks and distributes parts from Scandinavian manufacturers to our key international assembly sites.

Deep Driller 150 is operated by Norsk Retningsboring as and is making safe progress towards its first geothermal test-point at 1000m (3000 ft) outside of Stavanger city. The hole size is 8 1/2 inch and the drilling rate is controlled at 10-15 meters (30-45 feet) per hour.

In addition to geothermal prospecting, the rig is serving as a platform for a research collaboration with Tomax. The rig provides High-Frequency (HF) drill-string measurements collected by a drill-strong sensor. The recording rate is 4000 Hz.

The well is currently penetrating basement gneiss with layers of biotitt much like the background in the below picture. It was taken when Jøran Austbø, Morten Granhøy-Lieng and Håkon Skjelvik from Tomax HQ visited the rig this week.

Rig manager Ove Heggland (background) was surprised to see how noise and vibration dissapeared with the Tomax research tool.

Our all-new 5.0 XC-AST will be available starting November 2025. This release follows a successful pilot deployment in North America over the past three months.

The new tool has not only meet but exceeded the expectations of both drillers and our maintenance technicians by:

⚙️ Optimized, torque and fatigue resistant internal connections

⚙️ Calibrated body OD to fit BHA’s with perfected borehole clearance

«XC» means the new tool has a practically unlimited operational range thanks to our patented counterforce principle.

Furthermore, the long physical stroke of the 5.0 XC-AST adds timely hydraulic resistance at fast velocities. This feature limits the eruption of Higher-Order Frequency Torsional Oscillations (HFTO) from energetic drilling events.

(SAWYER PARK) In Q3 2025, we set a new record for activity with 5️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ AST tools deployed—the highest in our history.

We’re achieving this by supporting the Permian Basin drive for efficiency: fewer wells, but with demanding targets for longer reach and higher efficiency.

(HOUSTON) What a milestone! Since providing the first generation of Anti Stick-Slip Tool (AST) for Gulf of Mexico deepwater operations in 2010, Julian Arreguin has been a vital force in building superior operational reliability and success in the U.S.

In 2025, Julian and his dedicated Repair & Maintenance (R&M) team now supply AST regulators in eight sizes, from Suriname all the way to the busy Permian and Western Canada basins and to the Labrador Sea.

Last week, we celebrated our 2️⃣0️⃣ year anniversary 🥳 with Julian, our amazing U.S. team, and a fantastic group of clients and partners. Your trust and partnership have been critical to our journey and success.

Motocross is a fantastic way to get young people active, but with speed comes risk. Managing that risk is essential. We're excited to announce our partnership with the Norwegian Motorsport Federation, (Norges Motorsportforbund) providing paramedic services for every race in the "VestCup" series. We're dedicated to ensuring a safe environment for these young athletes so they can focus on their performance and have fun.

(FORUS) The annual Tomax/Toolserve golf tournament at Sola Golf Club was held today with a great turnout. The winning team consisted of Arild Skogen (Halliburton), Asgeir Kinn (ConocoPhillips), Eivind Ovedal (Norwegian Technology) and Jørand Austbø (Tomax).

(FORUS) Jone Mellemstrand, VP of Engineering, retired from Tomax on July 1st, 2025.

Pictured here, Jone is inspecting the new, unlimited spring stack. Launched in 2023 this innovation is another contribution to improved efficiency in Permian- and similar long wells.

Jone's knack for turning innovation into industrial value predates his time at Tomax. His impressive track record includes the Roxar (Emerson) HT permanent gauges and the PSI (now TD Williamson) smart pipeline plugs.

His unwavering commitment to accuracy not only led to unique capabilities but also and equally unique reliability record. He will be replaced by Kjetil Thorsen, senor engineer with Tomax since 2023.

Jone has earned a special place in Tomax's history and in oilfield engineering as a whole. We wish him a happy and well-deserved retirement.
