Matbit provides healthier homemade snacks for toddlers. This salt is not bleached and provides trace amounts of minerals that are needed in the body.
Since becoming pregnant with my son Thomas, I have been educating myself on what is actually in food and how foods can affect the body. When Thomas started solids though I noticed there was a lack of snack foods in Stavanger, especially savoury things. Filling suitcases of Organix and Ella's kitchen snacks was frustrating as they were often broken up by the time we got back. Thomas tried and loved
oatcakes when we are back in Scotland, so I decided to try my hand at making them myself and the first try was a huge success - so much so that he won't really eat the store bought ones now! I then started looking for other foods that he would like and have come up with a few staples that I know he will never refuse - even on his most fussy days. I have spoken to several mums at åpen barnehages and discovered that they were having the same problem finding good snacks that weren't fruit pouches and so the idea for Matbit was born. I have started with a basic selection but if there are things that you would like to see on offer, just let me know & I will see what I can do. Please note that some recipes do call for very small amounts salt but be assured that the only salt used is pink Himalayan salt. Refined sugar is not used in any recipes, any sweetness will come from honey, maple syrup molasses or from fruits such as dates, banana and apples. I also ensure that there are no E numbers in any of the ingredients for example dried fruit etc. If there are any food sensitives, allergies or certain things that your child can't/won't eat, please let me know, even if you don't think that it would be in that recipe.
