#64 is a dear friend and this morning she invited me for breakfast in her new apartment, certainly one with a green view and always a treat! She is generally smart and clever and supergood at turning thoughts into actions. Everything she makes is beautiful. As is she.
She is an anthropologist, grew up in Malaysia and went to Norway at age 18 as a student. There, she met and married a Norwegian man, Eiolf Olsen. After many happy years together, he suddenly died one day. Her first book "The Way Through The Woods. Of mushrooms and mourning" is about two journeys: an outer journey about her discovery of the Kingdom of Fungi and an inner journey about her grief. The book has been published in 16 countries.

Beate is tall and super elegant, normally always dressed in black. She has two children and is also a granny.

She is a former basket ball player, a lawyer with a long carreer in insurance, before 16 years ago taking on the Director position at the .

She has now decided to retire, just a week and some vacition left before doing so.

She knits absolutely wonderful shawls - see some at her insta. is one inspiration.

Now she plans to see more of Oslo, biking.
