In Lacuna, we follow Sonja, who has always sensed that the people she grew up with are not her biological parents. However, she is haunted by the absence of a pivotal memory from her childhood. This immersive journey invites you to explore a multiverse of fragmented memories alongside Sonja as she seeks to uncover what was lost.

Together, you and Sonja will delve into the significant moment from January 1943 that she cannot recall—the separation from her parents. Through a tapestry of autobiographical and shared memories, Sonja leads you through crucial scenes from her life and that of her parents, weaving a narrative that spans from Paramaribo to Amsterdam and back, including poignant moments at the Jewish Psychiatric Center Het Apeldoornsche Bosch.

Sonja remains your companion throughout this exploration, helping to anchor your experience. Together, you will reconstruct a virtual presence of what was lost and ultimately help Sonja reclaim her story.
