After the very successful concert of yesterday in Utrecht, ready now for our concert this evening at Beauforthuis, Austerlitz. It became like our family theater. Every time we perform here it is sold out, even when it is a Monday evening 🤩❤️

In de Dekenkapel van de historische Pieterskerk in Utrecht nodigen wij u uit voor een optreden van het: La Rosa Ensemble.
Het ensemble bestaat uit de Marokkaanse zanger Anass Habib, de Franse accordeonist Benoît Rey en de Nederlands-Turks-Arabische gitarist en ud-speler Göksel Yilmaz.

Samen brengen ze eigentijdse interpretaties van liederen uit het Midden-Oosten in een intieme setting.

Dit keer neemt La Rosa Ensemble het publiek mee op een muzikale reis door de rijke culturele geschiedenis en vertolkt eeuwenoude traditionele liederen, gezongen in het Arabisch, Aramees, Turks en Sefardisch. Hierbij worden gevoelens van liefde, verbondenheid, heimwee en verlangen, die aan deze muziek ten grondslag liggen, vastgelegd. Door in deze talen van verschillende geloofsgemeenschappen te zingen, brengen ze tevens een boodschap van vrede en broederschap tussen deze culturen over. Op het concertprogramma staan ook liederen van de wereldberoemde Libanese zangeres Fairuz, die volgens de legende niet lacht tijdens haar optredens totdat vrede in het Midden-Oosten een feit is.

Dit alles resulteert in een meeslepende voorstelling met een repertoire dat geworteld is in oude muzikale tradities maar toch fris en modern aanvoelt. De passie die het trio in de muziek legt, samen met hun virtuositeit en technische uitmuntendheid, zorgen voor een onvergetelijke ervaring!

The La Rosa ensemble comprises Moroccan singer Anass Habib, French accordionist Benoît Rey, and Dutch-Turkish-Arab guitarist and oud player Göksel Yilmaz.

Together, they perform contemporary interpretations of Middle Eastern songs in an intimate setting. This time, the ensemble takes the audience on a musical journey through a rich cultural history by interpreting traditional songs sung in Arabic, Aramaic, Turkish and Sephardic that are centuries old. These songs express feelings of love, connection, nostalgia and longing. By singing in the languages of different faith communities, the ensemble also conveys a message of peace and brotherhood between these cultures.

The concert programme also features songs by the world-renowned Lebanese singer Fairuz, who, according to legend, does not laugh during her performances until there is peace in the Middle East.

The result is a compelling performance with a repertoire that is rooted in ancient musical traditions yet feels fresh and modern. The passion that the trio puts into the music, together with their virtuosity and technical excellence, makes for an unforgettable experience!
