We’re excited to announce our first listening session with our beloved neighbours: de plaatboef. Presented by the great Leroy Rey, resident DJ at NAR, we’re very pleased to invite you for a night of exploration.

For this session, Dorothy Ashby’s: The Rubáiyát of Dorothy Ashby (1970) has been chosen. It translates Omar Khayyám’s poems into hypnotic jazz, blending harp, koto, and mbira into something closer to spiritual mysticism than traditional jazz.

Since 1992, DJ Leroy Rey has been working the decks, captivating audiences and leaving an indelible mark on the club scene.

Hailing from both Indonesian and Dutch descent, thus a background brimming with several influences, his fascination for records and unstoppable interest in whatever sort of music would serve as a rock solid foundation for a long career.
