Seven years after the last TEDxRotterdam, someone had an idea:

What if we brought it back?

Meet Laisa, the organiser behind TEDxRotterdam 2026.

The idea came to her through a dream. One she couldn’t quite forget. The more she thought about it, the more she felt she had to do it.

So she did.

Picking up TEDxRotterdam after seven years came with plenty of questions, doubts and moments of can we really do this?

Luckily, she didn’t have to answer them alone.

Along the way, people showed up. With ideas, encouragement, time, trust and a belief in what TEDxRotterdam could become again.

And now, after months of building, planning and dreaming, we’re just 4 weeks away.

On 11 November, TEDxRotterdam returns to the Nieuwe Luxor Theater.

Last weekend, we stepped away from the usual meeting room and came together on a boat 🚤

It was an evening of conversations, laughter, new connections, and a chance to simply enjoy the people behind TEDx Rotterdam

We were welcomed by one of our partners and supporters, founded by — an entrepreneur whose own journey is one of resilience, innovation and determination

Wesley was also one of the speakers at the previous TEDx Rotterdam edition, making this gathering feel even more connected to the journey we’re continuing together.

Indeed TEDx is not only about what happens on stage,
it’s also about the people you meet, the conversations you have, and the ideas that continue moving long after the talks are over

And this time, we were literally moving 🌊

Our partner Pop It will be taking care of exactly that: helping us create meaningful connections throughout the event

Through activities, games and shows, the aim is not only to entertain, but to bring people together and make connection feel natural

Can we network without the pressure of trying to be who we’re supposed to be?

Can we connect while simply being ourselves, without restraint? Or have we become too rigid for that?

And as technology accelerates our lives, is it helping us connect more — or disconnect more?
