Gallery JOEY RAMONE
Gallery & Project Space for Contemporary Art JOEY RAMONE was founded in 2012 by Greek artist Kiki Petratou & Dutch collector Hans Bakker.
The gallery, which we like to call an 'Half Artist-Run Gallery', is committed to developing an ambitious and vibrant multidisciplinary and cross-generational program. It has been presenting national and international artists who use a diverse range of media to explore contemporary socio-political, cultural and technological themes. In 2016 the gallery stepped into a new phase by doubling its space

✨ Now on view at the newly opened Nederlands Fotomuseum ✨
Installation views of Florian Braakman’s Temporary Facades (2015–2025), a newly commissioned work for Rotterdam in Focus.
Stretching an impressive 28,5 × 880 cm, this piece unfolds as a visual rhythm of the city—layered, provisional, and constantly in flux.
Rooted in Rotterdam’s streetscape, Temporary Facades reflects on urban transformation, everyday architecture, and the quiet narratives embedded in surfaces we usually pass by without noticing.

Tudor Bratu — The Burden of Proof
Installed as a sequence, the works form a quiet rhythm of repetition, interruption, and pause. Images are given space to breathe, and the intervals between them matter as much as the photographs themselves.
The exhibition unfolds slowly, asking for attention rather than interpretation.

Tudor Bratu — The Burden of Proof
The Burden of Proof asks what it means to witness.
Not to explain or speak for others, but to acknowledge presence, vulnerability, and responsibility.

Tudor Bratu — The Burden of Proof
A photographic exhibition focusing on lives at the edge of social visibility.
Working largely with analogue photography, Bratu preserves scratches, light leaks, and material breakdowns—allowing the vulnerability of the medium to mirror the fragility of the lives depicted.
The images resist explanation and resolution. They insist on presence, exposure, and the responsibility of looking.

🟡Tudor Bratu — The Burden of Proof
This exhibition brings together a body of photographic work by Tudor Bratu focusing on lives that exist at the edge of social visibility. The images do not explain or resolve. They remain with moments of exposure, suspension, and precarity.
Working largely with analogue photography, Bratu preserves scratches, light leaks, and material breakdowns. These marks are not corrected. They mirror the conditions of the lives depicted—shaped by neglect, instability, and systems that fail to provide care or protection.
Installed as a sequence, the works insist on presence rather than narrative. The Burden of Proof asks what it means to witness, and what responsibility comes with looking.
