Oh hey! 💙 I'm alive! Let's catch up on the past couple months:

1) September was kinda weird... I had been deeling off for a while and started questioning whether I wanted to make music at all. Which is strange, since it's always been my thing. I felt very out of balance and a little lost, and I decided to take a little break from creating things. That "little" break became several months and lasted up until now... so many things have changed! I got a new job, started going to therapy and I also found out: I still want to make music. OF COURSE I DO, but I had to adjust my relationship to it. I put a lot of pressure on myself to be "perfect" and to "succeed". And then out of fear of failing to do those things: I freeze. Long story short: I needed to be waaaay easier on myself in order to enjoy what I make. I am still learning that, but I think I'm getting better at it 💙 and I may not be fully up and running yet, but we're getting there!

An extremely late recap, because instagram glitched and all my drafts disappeared multiple times, and I couldn't be arsed to redo them until now 😂

5) My debut EP came out in July and I have been terrible at promoting it (due to some physical health and mental health reasons), but I am so proud of it still :)

Busy month, but a very fun one! And the last month before something very special comes out 👀

4) literally already felt like s**t and then a tropical rainstorm unleashed itsself upon me
5) we played a couple songs for these lovely people's anniversary and it was so fun!

7) catch me getting away with it during Cluedo
8) sang a song with .hanna during her final exam and it was so much fun! AND I literally saw the first decent picture of myself while singing, so I'm gonna make you all SEE IT! 📸
9) Felt like s**t for a good two days because
10) hearing the twilight soundtrack being performed in the wild and immediately sending it to the boys (annual twilight marathon for life)

13) recording drums for something that might definitely see the light of day at some point

HOW'S THAT WORKING OUT FOR YOU is OUT NOW!

This is genuinely one of my favourite songs I've ever written and I am so happy it's finished and out in the world right now 💙

How's That Working Out For You was written after I'd had a final conversation with someone who had really hurt me and was acting like a total as***le. I had written down all of these things that I had wanted to say to them, but in the end I only said some of them. And I was waaaay nicer to them than I had intended to be. I even ended up consoling THEM when they started crying and coming up with excuses for why they had treated me so horribly. It was, as they say, a big yikes. My people-pleasing insincts kicked in at the worst time. I came home afterwards and was kicking myself. I hadn't said all the things I wanted to say to them. I hadn't let out my anger. If only there was a way to go back and let it all out... and then I remembered that I write songs 💙

This song is for all the people-pleasers and the shy girls who are afraid of confrontation. If you've had enough of people walking all over you: this one's for you! Go crash out, like you deserve to 💙
