Late summer, sorted.

One minute it’s a cool morning, the next you’re wondering why you brought a jacket.

At this time of year, temperatures can change a lot throughout the day, so a little flexibility goes a long way.

Whether you’re bikepacking, touring or simply spending a full day in the saddle, we’ve pulled together the pieces we’re reaching for now. Bibs and jerseys for sunny kms, lightweight layers for cooler starts, evening rides and everything in between.

Because there are still plenty of good rides to be had before summer is officially over.

We’ve taken the last few days to process the incredibly sad news that Max is no longer with us.

It’s hard to find the right words for someone who gave so much to so many communities.

Max had an incredible ability to bring people together. If there was a space for people to ride, explore, connect and feel part of something, he would find a way to make it happen. He opened doors, connected people and shared his connections generously, always with huge enthusiasm, energy and a big smile.

We were lucky enough to work with Max on the Lynx Trail in Slovenia, but our relationship went far beyond that project. He was always there to support the IRIS community, helping us bring our adventures to more people through his own network and Gravgrav. But what we will remember most is Max himself. His generosity. His positivity. His curiosity. And his instinct to make space for others.

The cycling community has lost someone who cared deeply about helping people come together and making those communities thrive. We feel incredibly lucky to have known him and to have shared some adventures along the way.

Our thoughts are with Max’s family, his partner, his friends and everyone who knew and loved him.

You will be deeply missed, Max.

Ride The Weekender: Oberland Edition yourself. 🚲⛰️

A few months on, and we’re still thinking about this one. Big views. Beautiful gravel. Long days in the saddle. The odd lakeside 'dip in a bib'. And plenty of good company along the way.

The best bit? You can ride it too.

With summer still hanging around for a little longer, we’ve put our Oberland route on komoot so you can get out there and explore some of the trails we discovered earlier this year. The route was created by IRIS ambassador Sara Hallbauer, who knows this corner of the world pretty well.

So, if you’re looking for a new adventure before summer is officially over, this one might be worth saving. Pick a weekend and go explore.

Bloomtown is getting a little harder to find.

As part of our IRISland Collection, the Bloomtown jersey was always a limited edition. M and XL have already gone, and the remaining sizes are now in their final days.

Once they’re gone, they’re gone. No second run, no secret stash hiding somewhere.

So if you’ve been thinking about adding a little Bloomtown to your rides, now’s probably a good time.

Summer doesn’t always mean leaving the layers at home.

Cool mornings. Changing skies. A little breeze on the descent.

Sometimes all you need is a lightweight layer you can throw on when you need it, then tuck away when the sun comes out.
