Expansion of tertiary institutions: Key among his achievements is anchoring the creation of new federal schools in the 2025 budget. This includes a Federal College of Agriculture, Veterinary Institute, Technical College, Management Development Centre, Technology Incubation Centre, School for the Disabled, and four federal secondary schools .

Education Village / Education City: He initiated an ₦80 billion "Education Village," comprising a Federal College of Education, Nursing & Health Sciences, Legal Studies, and a NOUN campus .

School renovations: Over 110 primary and 40 secondary schools have been renovated under his initiatives .

Alhamdulillah. Yayin da bikin Babban Sallah na shekarar 2025 ke kara karatowa, mai girma Shugaban Majalisar Wakilai ta Tarayya, Rt. Hon. Dr. Abbas Tajudeen (PhD, GCON), ya ci gaba da nuna kaunarsa ga al'umma ta hanyar samar da dabbobin layya da abincin Sallah masu yawan gaske, domin rabawa jama’a a cikin da wajen karamar hukumar Zaria – kamar yadda ya saba a kowace shekara – domin rage musu nauyin shagulgulan Sallah.

Rabon yana gudana ne kamar yadda aka saba, inda dubban al’umma ke cin moriyar wannan kyauta a wurare da dama, ciki har da:

📌Dukkan rumfunan kada zabe 584 (PUs) dake cikin gundumomi 13,

📌Dukkan masallatan Khamsu-Salawat a karamar hukumar Zaria,

📌Malaman makarantun firamare da sakandare,

📌Malaman manyan makarantu da ke gaba da sakandare,

📌Tsofaffin ma’aikatan jiha da na tarayya,

📌Malaman Islamiyya, Iyayen kasa, jami’an tsaro, kwamitocin gida, ‘yan siyasa, ‘yan kungiyoyi da sauransu.

An gudanar da wannan rabon ne karkashin jagorancin Shugaban Karamar Hukumar Zaria, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad, tare da DCOS, Mal. Iliyasu Balarabe.

Muna rokon Allah (SWT) ya sa a yi shagulgulan Sallah cikin kwanciyar hankali da lafiya. Muna kuma addu’ar Allah ya kara wa Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen (Iyan Zazzau) jagora da nasara a dukkan al’amuransa. Allah ya saka masa da alheri, ya kuma ba shi ikon ci gaba da hidimtawa al’umma. 🤲

Earlier today, the Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government, Engr.Jamil Ahmad Muhammad, officially launched a 5-day Skills Acquisition Training on Modern Agriculture at the Youth Centre, Tudun Wada, Zaria. The program, organized by the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, was facilitated through the remarkable effort of our leader and representative, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, GCON.

This impactful initiative targets youth and women particularly rice farmers across Zaria. Beneficiaries will receive modern training along with pesticides, herbicides, rice cutting machines, knapsack sprayers, rain boots, and N50,000 in start-up capital to boost productivity and self-reliance in agribusiness.

Shortly after, the Executive Chairman proceeded to Barewa College, where he also launched the Human Development & Strategies Empowerment Program on Soap Making for youth and women, organized by the Centre for Management Development and also facilitated by the Hon. Speaker. Over 250 women will be trained in soap production and business development. Each participant will be empowered with N80,000 start-up capital at the end of the 5-day training.

In his address, Engr. Jaga emphasized that these initiatives go beyond training, they represent real economic opportunities capable of transforming lives, reducing dependency, and supporting household income generation.

In the afternoon, the Chairman received a delegation from the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in his office. The delegation commended his administration for:
• Early salary payment (15th–19th of every month)—the earliest in Nigeria,
• Salary increments for LGA staff,

Equitable Development: House Inaugurates Committee on Community and Social Development/NG-CARES

Abuja, FCT | Sunday, May 11, 2025 – The House of Representatives this past week, inaugurated the Committee on Community and Social Development/NG-CARES, reinforcing its commitment to deepening inclusive growth and delivering measurable social impact at the grassroots level.

The inauguration ceremony held at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja, was presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, GCON, who was represented by the House Deputy Chief Whip, Rep. Ibrahim Ayokunle Isiaka.

The event was attended by Members of the Committee led by its Chairman, Rep. Abubakar Yahaya Kusada (APC, Katsina), and other Honourable Members of the House, stakeholders from the Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), and representatives of development partners.

In his remarks, Speaker Abbas emphasised the critical importance of the Committee in addressing Nigeria’s multidimensional poverty and widening social gaps, particularly in rural and peri-urban communities.

“Community and social development occupy a foundational place in the architecture of national advancement. They serve as primary conduits to actualise inclusive growth, distributive equity, and societal cohesion,” he stated.

The Speaker further highlighted that when strategically harnessed, community-based interventions do more than provide services. They stimulate local agency, fortify social capital, and generate ownership that transcends administrative cycles.

In his welcome address, Rep. Abubakar Yahaya Kusada (APC, Katsina), Chairman of the Committee, described the inauguration ceremony as a declaration of intent: to serve, to uplift, and to build.
