Return To Roots Cultural Foundation
We are creating a new story.
Long before modern technology, our ancestors understood climate and comfort. Mud houses were designed to breathe, balance heat, and protect life naturally. This is heritage. This is wisdom.

We envision an Africa where culture is not archived but practiced.
Where history is lived, festivals are protected, arts are honoured, and values are confidently passed on.
A future where young people are grounded in identity and African heritage stands boldly as a global cultural force.
This is the Africa we are returning to.

RETURN TO ROOTS CULTURAL FOUNDATION LAUNCHES INITIATIVE TO PRESERVE AFRICAN HERITAGE
A new cultural initiative, Return to Roots Cultural Foundation, has been established to preserve, promote and reawaken indigenous African heritage, values and creative expressions across generations.
The Foundation, which operates from Badagry, a town noted for its rich historical and cultural significance, said it is driven by the belief that sustainable development, identity and community pride are deeply rooted in culture.
In a statement issued on Thursday by its Secretary, Mr. Khayrat Akinwale, the Foundation noted that rapid modernisation has continued to distance young people from history, language, customs and traditional knowledge systems.
According to the statement, Return to Roots Cultural Foundation is positioned as a bridge between the past and the present, deploying culture as a tool for education, tourism development, creative enterprise and social cohesion.
It said the Foundation’s programmes would cover cultural documentation, heritage advocacy, community-based initiatives, festivals, storytelling, research and strategic partnerships with creatives, institutions and custodians of tradition.
“The focus of the Foundation is not nostalgia, but relevance, ensuring that culture remains lived, taught and economically viable,” the statement said.
The Foundation added that in the coming days, it would release media materials detailing its vision, leadership structure, focus areas and upcoming initiatives, with particular emphasis on programmes designed to engage communities and young people.
Return to Roots Cultural Foundation also called on stakeholders, cultural practitioners, institutions and members of the public to support and participate in the initiative.
It described the journey as one anchored on identity, responsibility and collective memory.
