USMAN DAN FODIO UNIVERSITY APPROVES FIRST FEMALE PROFESSOR

The Governing Council of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, has approved a professorial chair for Aisha Madawaki Isah. Aisha, with this, becomes the first female professor of Education and Extension Services from Sokoto and the neighbouring States of Kebbi, Zamfara and Katsina.

A professor of Educational Psychology, she had served in many capacities at the state and national levels as commissioner for women affairs and social development, Sokoto State (1999-2003) and chairperson, Teachers Service Board, Sokoto State(2004-2007). Other positions held includes member, Presidential Technical Committee on Housing and Urban Development(2002-2004); member, Presidential Technical Board Federal Mortgage Bank, Abuja (2004-2007);

member, Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission, Abuja (2008-2012); and

member, National Colleges of Education Commission Accreditation Team Work with some International organisations.

Professor Aisha Madawaki Isah is a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (MFR). -LEADERSHIP
