Queens (Olórís) of Traditional Rulers Grace Historic Installation and Coronation Ceremony

The respected queens (Olórís) of several traditional rulers added colour, elegance, and royal dignity to the installation and coronation ceremony of High Chief Engr. Babatunde Michael Tiamiyu as the Baale of Moro-Itunrapa Community.

The colourful event took place on Saturday, 1st August, 2026, at the Palace of the Oniraye of Iraye, Sagamu, Ogun State, where royal fathers, their queens, high chiefs, dignitaries, religious leaders, and well-wishers gathered to celebrate the historic occasion in an atmosphere of culture, tradition, and unity.

The presence of the royal queens reflected their unwavering support for their husbands and the preservation of the rich cultural heritage of Remoland, adding glamour and prestige to the memorable celebration.

High Chief Engr. Babatunde Michael Tiamiyu Installed as Baale of Moro-Itunrapa, Sagamu, Ogun State; Oniraye Warns Against Land Grabbing and Abuse of Power

IRAYE, SAGAMU, OGUN STATE – History was made on Saturday as High Chief Engr. Babatunde Michael Tiamiyu was officially installed as the Baale of Moro-Itunrapa in Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State. The colourful ceremony attracted traditional rulers, government officials, political leaders, religious leaders, family members, and well-wishers from within and outside the state.

The historic event took place at the palace of His Royal Majesty Oba Moshood Adebiro Owodina, the Oniraye of Iraye Land, where the traditional installation rites were performed in accordance with the customs and traditions of Remoland.

The newly installed Baale, a distinguished son of the Odubelu Descendants Family, was presented under the authority of His Royal Majesty Oba Dr. Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, CFR, Torungbuwa II, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, reaffirming the enduring importance of traditional leadership in promoting peace, unity, and community development.

The ceremony featured royal blessings, traditional rites, cultural displays, prayers for peace and prosperity, and goodwill messages from eminent personalities who commended the choice of High Chief Engr. Babatunde Michael Tiamiyu as a visionary leader committed to the growth and development of Moro-Itunrapa.

The occasion also celebrated the rich cultural heritage of Iraye Land and Remoland, showcasing the unity, customs, and values that continue to strengthen the people and preserve their traditions.

The installation ceremony was done by the Oniraye of Iraye Land, Oba Moshood Adebiro Owodina, alongside other traditional rulers, who asked the newly installed Baale and the Olotu of the Odubelu Chieftaincy Family whether there were any land grabbers operating within their community. Both responded that there were none.

Following their response, the monarch issued a firm warning to the newly installed Baale and the Olotu of the Odubelu Chieftaincy Family, urging them to shun land grabbing, abuse of power, and every form of unlawful conduct. He also cautioned them against interfering in the affairs of other families, emphasizing that traditional rulers must uphold justice, fairness, and integrity while promoting peace and harmony within their domains.

Speaking after his installation, High Chief Engr. Babatunde Michael Tiamiyu expressed profound gratitude to Almighty God, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, the Oniraye of Iraye Land, fellow traditional rulers, government officials, members of the Odubelu Descendants Family, and all guests for their unwavering support and confidence in his leadership.

He pledged to work tirelessly for peace, unity, security, and sustainable development in Moro-Itunrapa, while fostering harmony among residents and supporting initiatives that will improve the welfare and prosperity of the community.
