Last year, Pat Uche Nwachukwu reached out to me for her wedding cake and a cake for her siblings.
She reached out much earlier before the wedding and as well made payment. At the time i got to the market, prices had increased but i decided to chest the cost.
In course of doing her cake, a particular detail she asked for was faulty and i didn't notice it until a day to the wedding.
I felt bad and had to change the cake design to avoid having a horrible cake finishing.
The next morning, before delivering the cake, i informed her but didn't give her the details.

Ladies and gentlemen, i delivered this royalty to her and she didn't flare up at me for not sticking to the plan.

DAY 10 - WEDDING CAKE

On this day (11-12-2021) two years ago, my elder sister tied the knot with the love of her life.

I designed her wedding cake alone without help while still running errands.

On Monday, I got the ingredients except the eggs and made a few edible flowers for the cake.
On Tuesday, I got the eggs creamed my butter and sugar and also attended her Court wedding.
On Wednesday, i baked the cakes.
On Thursday was her traditional marriage, but I covered all the cakes that day.
On Friday, I decorated the cakes and baked the cut out that should be shared to the attendees,
By the time I was done for the night, it was already 5am on Saturday being the wedding day 🤕🤕🤕

I was so exhausted,
I had to call for help in wrapping the cut outs

It was a very hectic move for me

But guess what???

That was the last time I ever did a big cake alone 🥳🥳🥳
I have learned to ask for help, I have learned to get adhoc staffs.

Whenever I talk about it, I feel so proud of myself, I actually brag about it 🥵

DAY 9 - SOCIAL MEDIA

I've had great difficulties keeping up on social media despite the alarms and reminders but i have refused to quit.

A lady ordered a certain birthday cake from Beintari .
I recall that she needed me to deliver it as a surprise package to her friend.

Few days later, I needed a feedback,
So i chatted her up and her first response was,
"Babe, why are you not all out on IG (Instagram)?? You do amazing cakes!!! You have the fluffiest chocolate cake I've ever had and you are hiding!!! Please go all out on IG"

Today, I pledge to be better on social media

DAY 8 - THE REFUND

I got a job while at work to do a box of 12 cupcakes and i was expected to deliver that same evening. I had to bargain for a later time as i will get home from work by 5pm.

I hurriedly left for the market after work to get a cake box for the cake, thankfully, i already had a mixed butter and sugar so I would have a quick baking experience.

When i got home, I mixed my cake and baked.
Prepared my buttercream waiting for the cake to bake fully and get cold.

I decorated my cake so beautifully, it was simple but eye catching.

When i delivered, the lady was excited about the cake.

Two days later, I chatted her up to get a feedback, only to get a terrible feedback. I ran off to the fridge to get the cake left there and I confirmed the feedback was true 🥺

I discovered that the margarine I bought was already bad before it was sold, I felt really bad.

I called the lady and promised to make it up to her, I used the profit made from the cake and baked another 12 cupcakes for her.

When i delivered it to her, she was surprised that I didn't do something smaller for her. That night, I didn't have to chat her up, she chatted me herself with a priceless feedback.

I lost money
But i gained a customer
It felt like a full refund
In the end i felt fulfilled

DAY 7 - MY FAVORITE CAKE FLAVOUR

My mixer got bad for a while now and I couldn't cream butter and sugar with my hands. I really needed to get a new mixer but I didn't want to get the small one so I was patient to save up for a bigger mixer.

In course of saving up for a bigger mixer, I began to use my "oil based recipe". I didn't actually abandon it but I seldom used it. I got to bake so many oil based cakes especially red velvet and chocolate cakes.

My favourite cake flavour is chocolate cake flavour. Precisely the oil based cake.

I remember a mind blowing feedback I got from an order of my chocolate cake. Then I discovered that it wasn't just because I loved chocolates, it is because my chocolate cake is the yummiest😂 (if that's a word in the dictionary) you can ever taste.

DAY 6 - I CELEBRATE ME

When I got informed that I was nominated for an award, I wasn't expecting it. I thought It was the organization that nominated me but that was not it.

I accepted the nomination joyfully because I believed that for someone to nominate me, then I'm gradually becoming visible online.
My brand Beintari is now visible.
This excited me.

It was my first business nomination and I'm proud of it.

I didn't win the award, someone else did and the win was well deserved, I wasn't cheated 😂

I celebrate myself today, with or without an award, I'm a winner and I am the price. I got so much joy knowing that i didn't feel bad for not winning the award.

This is a stepping stone for greater heights
