Let’s talk about a tough workplace reality that doesn’t get brought up enough: safety officers getting blamed for management failures. 🛑
​A safety officer’s job is to identify risks, write policies, and advise. But they don't hold the checkbook, and they don't make the final corporate calls. When management cuts budgets, ignores safety reports, or pushes production speed over worker protection... who gets blamed when something goes wrong? Too often, it’s the safety professional.
​You can’t give someone 100% of the responsibility but 0% of the authority. Safety isn't a one-person shield to hide behind when things go south—it’s a top-down culture.
