Today, the newly admitted students in my school had their matriculation ceremony. It got me thinking about this time last year.
Last year, around this same period, not the same day, I was just like them.
I remember stepping into OAU with almost zero excitement. Everything felt so unfamiliar.
Those first two or three months?
Let me tell you,:they were rough. There were days Iād confuse lecture theaters.
I was lost, literally and figuratively š
But now, a year later, I look back and Iām genuinely grateful that I came here.
Why? Because my life today isnāt even in the same league as what it was before I got here.
The growth, the change, itās wild.
And it hit me: itās exactly the same feeling I have as a copywriter and web developer starting out on social media.
Right now, everything feels new and awkward.
Some days, I donāt want to post. And guess what? I donāt.
Other days, Iāll stare at what Iāve written and think,
āThis is too boring, no oneās going to care.ā
So I donāt post.
And then there are days where life gets so busy with academics that I completely forget I even have a page to post on.
Itās unfamiliar territory, no doubt. But I know something: the only way out is through.
Iām willing to keep going until it feels natural, until posting content is second nature.
The goal is to reach that stage where I donāt even think twice before uploading.
So until then, Iāll keep showing up. Keep forging ahead.
What about you?
Are you ready to push through the unfamiliar until it becomes your new normal?
PS: I decided to spam you with my matric pictures š
I had an embarrassing episode yesterday and it made me think about many things.
It made me think about my mental growth and strength fr
The Moyinoluwa of 2 years ago would have probably burst into tears on the spot but I didn't do that yesterday.
I just corrected what needed to be done and I continued what I was doing.
When I thought about that episode, I realized I've grown so much over these 2 years in OAU.
I'm not stagnant, that's what matters.
I'm not good with strict timelines,
I tend to procrastinate,
I tend to make mistakes,
I tend to not be very firm in my words,
But still,
I'm improving day by day.
Think about your life too, that one thing you really want to see changes in might be stopping you from seeing how much you've grown over the years.
You need to give yourself that accolade, stop and appreciate yourself because if you don't, nobody will do it.
Looking back at that embarrassing episode, I realize it wasn't just a moment to cringe at, it was proof of how far I've come.
If I can celebrate that, so can you.
TikTok has been banned in the US.
Here's what this means for creators and business owners:
For thousands of people, their accounts are gone.
Their followers? Gone.
Their source of income? Gone. Just like that.
So, what can they do now?
Thatās the reality of being on social media
It is like performing in a packed stadium where thousands of people are screaming your name.
Theyāre there for YOU. Every time you speak, they listen. Every time you promote something, they buy.
Sounds great, right?
Butā¦
The stadium manager suddenly walks in, flips a switch, and the lights go out. The crowd vanishes.
Youāre left standing in complete darkness, alone.
Thatās exactly what happens when you build your audience on social media platforms.
You donāt own the stadium.
The platforms control the lights, the crowd, and even your microphone.
One algorithm change, one policy update, and everything youāve built can disappear overnight.
No control whatsoever!
But you know what? You can build your OWN stadium.
With an email list, youāre no longer renting space. You OWN the connection.
No one can turn off the lights or take your audience away. You decide when to speak and how to connect with the people who care about your message.
And the best part? Building that stadium is easier than you think.
Iāll help you create, grow, and use your email list to turn followers into lifelong customers.
If youāre ready to stop depending on rented platforms and start owning your audience, DM me now.
Letās build your stadium.
Moyinoluwa, you said youād be serious this year.
Moyinoluwa, you said youāre ready to upscale your social media presence.
Moyinoluwa, you promised no more being unserious.
Moyinoluwa this, Moyinoluwa thatā¦
I know. For the past 4 days, Iāve not joined the challenge, and thatās on me.
Itās been a roller coaster ride of back-to-back classes, church services, and writing tests.
Itās definitely been overwhelming but no more excuses.
Iāve realized that if I keep blaming my circumstances for not showing up, Iāll always have a thousand reasons to stay stagnant.
This week made me think about the creators and business owners I admire.
I know I canāt possibly be busier than them, yet they remain consistent.
No matter the challenges they face,
They show up. They create. They post.
And that consistency isnāt by accident, itās because they have plans and structures in place.
They donāt wait until they need content to start writing it.
That realization hit me hard, and I decided to stop winging it.
I came up with a simple plan based on what I know about content planning, and Iām happy to say Iām back on track, better prepared and more focused.
This post will serve as a reminder for me and for anyone reading: itās okay to take a break and restrategize.
You donāt have to be perfect or on point all the time.
The most important thing is that you donāt remain stagnant. Keep moving, keep learning, and keep showing up.

Are you quiet about your business because, āWhat if it fails one day?ā Or, āWhat if I put in all this effort and sales no gree come?ā
Shior!
Shouldnāt that be the exact reason you should be shouting about the business from the rooftops? Cos, how will the sales come if nobody knows what you're doing?
Before you start worrying about what people will say if you fail, think about your future self sitting in one corner, disappointed.
Why?
Because you were too busy doubting yourself to put in the work when it mattered.
Donāt let that happen to you o.
Send those emails. Post those reels.
Sell your market like your entire life depends on it. Youāll be shocked how far youāll go when you stop holding yourself back.
And if anybody asks why youāre ādoing too much,ā tell them, āBetter overdo than underachieve!ā
