This morning, while I was on my way to Subh, a verse came to my mind, and I started pondering over it. The verse is from Sūratul Ḥijr:

‎قال الله تعالى: قال و من يقنط من رحمة ربه إلا الضالين
‎"He said, 'And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord except for those who are astray?'"

‎Abu al-Anbiyā’ (father of the prophets) realized the mercy of his Lord after being reminded, and he said:

‎"Who would despair of the mercy of their Lord except those who are lost?"

‎This means that despair only comes to those who turn away from Allah and do not recognize His greatness. Nothing can limit Allah; He does whatever He wills.

‎As Muslims, we must never despair of Allah’s mercy. If you are asking Allah for something, do not say, “Allah will not answer me.” If you have disobeyed Allah and are seeking forgiveness, do not say, “Allah will not forgive me.”

‎Allah says in Sūrat Az-Zumar:

‎قل يا عبادي الذين أسرفوا على أنفسهم ، لا تقنطوا من رحمة الله
‎"Say - O Messenger, to My servants who have gone beyond the limit against themselves by committing sins: Do not despair of Allah’s mercy and forgiveness."

‎Allah forgives all sins for those who repent. He is forgiving towards the sins of those who turn back to Him and merciful towards them.

‎Remember: No matter how many mistakes you have made, as long as you sincerely return to Allah, hope is never lost. Allah’s mercy is greater than your sins.

Dress Properly Even Among Your Same Gender

‎There is something very common today that many people see as normal, yet it is not taken seriously in Islam. What is it? Indecent dressing among the same gender.

‎Let us begin with males.

‎It is not permissible for a man to dress in a way that exposes his ‘awrah (nakedness), even when he is only among other males.
‎The ‘awrah of a man is from the navel to the knee. This means it is not allowed to walk around wearing boxers carelessly, exposing the thighs, or wearing only singlets in a way that reveals the body improperly.

‎Modesty is not weakness. Some people feel shy about dressing decently among other men, but that shyness is actually a sign of īmān. The Prophet ﷺ said:

‎ “Modesty is part of faith.”

‎So please take note of this and strive to be a modest person at all times.

‎Now, regarding females:

‎A woman must also observe modesty even when she is among other females. Islam does not permit dressing carelessly just because “we are all women.”
‎Clothes that expose the thighs, are very tight, or reveal the chest are not permissible, even among females.

‎A woman’s clothing among other women should:

‎Cover the thighs and reach below the knees

‎Cover the chest properly up to the neck

‎Not be tight or transparent

‎This is even more important at home, especially in the presence of grown male brothers or male relatives.

‎Also remember: العين حق — the evil eye is real. Modesty protects both the heart and
‎the body.

‎The Messenger of Allahﷺ said:

‎“A man should not look at the ‘awrah of another man, and a woman should not look at the ‘awrah of another woman. A man should not lie with another man under one garment, and a woman should not lie with another woman under one garment.”
‎(Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim)

‎Islam teaches us ḥayā’ (modesty) in public and in private, with others and when alone.
‎True modesty is not about culture or location — it is a constant act of obedience to Allah.

‎May Allah make us among those who preserve their modesty and protect their īmān.

‎A Reminder for Muslim Women

‎We have some Muslimahs who record videos of themselves and post them online. This is a serious matter and something very dangerous. May Allah guide us all.

‎What I want to focus on especially are those who record videos but do not post them. May Allah reward you for that intention. However, the videos you record and keep on your phone must be treated with great caution.

‎Many sisters record videos without hijab or while wearing clothes that are not permissible for non-mahram men to see.

‎ Even if you do not post them, many things can happen:

‎Your phone could be lost or stolen
‎Someone could access your phone accidentally or intentionally

‎A male (relative, friend, or stranger) might see what was never meant to be seen

‎Phones get hacked, repaired, shared, or synced without notice

‎Islam does not only teach us to avoid haram, but also to block the paths that lead to it.

‎ Important advice:

‎Do not record videos of yourself unless there is a real necessity

‎If recording is necessary, make it faceless
‎Do not record videos without hijab or in revealing clothing

‎Protect your modesty even when no one is watching, for Allah is always watching
‎Your honor and modesty are precious.

‎ Once something is exposed, it can never be fully taken back.

‎May Allah protect our sisters, preserve their dignity, and guide us all to what pleases Him.
‎Ameen.

If a woman in niqab makes a mistake, the mistake is hers—not the niqab.

And if a bearded man makes a mistake, the mistake is his—not his beard.

And if you think that the bearded man or the woman in niqab should never make mistakes, then let me remind you that they are human—just like everyone else.

They make mistakes and they get things right.
Neither the beard nor the niqab protects a person from error; rather, what truly matters is deeds, piety, and character.
