Relief without shelter is not enough.
In many humanitarian responses today, there is a growing gap that cannot be ignored.
Relief is often prioritised, while shelter is treated as secondary.
But what happens when people receive food, items, or supportβ¦and still have no proper place to sleep?
What happens when families are left exposed, without protection from rain, heat, and insecurity?
As the rainy season approaches, this becomes an urgent concern.
Shelter is not just about having a roof. It is about safety and basic protection. Without it, people remain vulnerable, no matter what other support they receive.
These are not distant stories. These are real situations we have seen firsthand.
The images we captured are only a small glimpse of what many people are facing. Behind every picture are families trying to cope without proper shelter, even in the middle of ongoing humanitarian efforts.
We have invested a lot in life-saving support across different communities. But the question remains:
Are we paying enough attention to where people actually live?
Shelter should not be an afterthought. It is a critical part of any meaningful response.

Happy Monday from Care Aid Support Initiative! πππ
A new week is here, and with it comes another opportunity to show up for people, for communities and for the work that matters.
At Care Aid, we understand that impact is sometimes in the small efforts. The child who now has access to learning materials. The family that receives support at the right time. The community that begins to feel seen and supported.
These are the things that define what we do.
As we begin this week, we are reminded that real change is built daily. It is built through commitment, through showing up even when it is not convenient and through choosing to care for people.
We remain committed to extending support, empowering lives and contributing to lasting impact in every way we can.
To everyone who believes in our work, supports our mission, and stands with us, we see you and we appreciate you.
Letβs step into this week with a willingness to make every effort count.
Happy Monday.

Happy Monday from Care Aid Support Initiative.
A new week is here again, and for us, it means another opportunity to continue doing what we are committed to, standing with people, supporting communities and responding to needs.
At Care Aid, we understand that impact Chan life. Sometimes it is in the little things. A meal shared. A child supported. A family receiving help when they need it most. These are the things that keep us going.
As we step into this week, we remain focused on service . There is still work to be done, more people to reach, and more lives to support. And we do not take that lightly.
To everyone working with us, supporting us, or following our journey, thank you for being part of this mission. We do not exist without the people who believe in what we are building.
Here is to another week of showing up and doing the work that matters.

Happy New Year! As we begin 2026, we want to take a moment to thank everyone who has been part of the Care Aid family. Last year, together, we reached families who were facing challenges. We delivered food to communities affected by floods, provided clean water to families without access, supported children who lost access to basic needs and assisted people with disabilities to live safely at home. None of this would have been possible without our volunteers, partners and supporters.
This year, our goal is to continue reaching more people. We want to provide emergency support faster, reach communities that need medical assistance and help families prepare for disasters before they happen. We also want to involve more volunteers and supporters, because every hand that joins us can help more families.
If you are part of our community, thank you for your time and support. If you are reading this and want to get involved, there are many ways to help. You can volunteer with us, donate supplies or even share our posts to let more people know about the work happening in communities that often go unnoticed.
2026 is a new start, but the needs we meet are real and urgent. This year, we hope to provide more clean water points, deliver more food packs and help families recover from the challenges they face. Every effort counts, no matter how small.
From all of us at Care Aid Support Initiative, we wish you a healthy, safe and meaningful 2026. Thank you for standing with us and with the families we serve. Together, we will continue to make sure help reaches those who need it most.

Empowering Kukareta through Community Engagement with Sustainable Locally Made Solutions (CSEB)π§±π±
CARE AID Support Initiative, in collaboration with the IOM - UN Migration and PARLI , successfully conducted a community-based training session on Compressed Stabilised Earth Bricks (CSEB) in Kukareta.
The training featured:
πΉ Theoretical Insights β covering materials, preparation, and the environmental advantages of CSEB.
πΉ Practical Demonstration β a hands-on session at the moulding site, where participants engaged directly in the brick production process.
This impactful training not only equipped participants with practical skills in sustainable construction but also fostered local capacity for climate-resilient, cost-effective housing solutions and restoring dignity through locally-driven solutions.
The enthusiasm and participation from community members reaffirm the importance of investing in people, not just projects. With this knowledge, Kukareta is now better positioned to build affordable, sustainable shelters crafted by their own hands, for their own future.
Together, weβre building more than homes; we're building resilience, self-reliance, and hope and laying the foundation for stronger, greener, and more resilient communities!

πBuilding Resilience with Compressed Stabilized Earth Bricks (CSEB)π‘
CARE AID Support Initiative is committed to sustainable and innovative shelter construction solutions.
In collaboration with the IOM and the Shelter Sector, our team participated in specialized training on CSEB construction at our Maiduguri Field Office.
This hands-on training, facilitated by Shelter Officers, equipped our program staff with essential skills in:
β
CSEB Technology: Understanding its benefits for local development.
β
Soil Selection & Testing: Identifying and testing suitable soil for brick production.
β
Brick Production & Quality Control: Ensuring high-quality, durable bricks.
β
Construction Techniques: Mastering sustainable local building methods.
Through the theoretical and practical sessions of the training, our team gained in-depth knowledge, hands-on experience, and the confidence to apply CSEB technology for sustainable and affordable shelter solutions in vulnerable communities.
This initiative reinforces Care Aid Support Initiative's commitment to climate-resilient and cost-effective housing solutions paving the way for stronger, more sustainable communities. π±π
